The DC had great games but it wasn't nearly as powerful as it could have been.
>wasn't nearly as powerful as it could have been
the dreamcast was released in fucking 1998, way ahead of the competition at the time
it was the most powerfull console when it came out in late 98, and had a modem/internet, mail reading, other consoles didn't get that until a decade later
the gpu was able to trace 7 millions polygons (0.3m for the Ps1)
huge GD Rom (1gb of data)
16mo of ram against 2 for the ps1
also the best sound system
I don't think a console was this good for its time, expect for the neo geo but it's a richfag console only
boomer here can confirm this console had beautiful graphics at the time
and why amazing specs don't matter in the end is explained pretty well in this short video of steve jobs:

You would think genderless I/O connectors would be more common.
Pocket PC
It failed because people were smart enough to wait for the PS2.
56k on dreamcast was my first internet porn
The Zune HD. I still use mine from time to time
*genderfluid, you fucking bigot
Damn, that truly looks ahead of its time.
Tha was a nice console. And it had the best gamepad ever!
>I don't think a console was this good for its time
You are forgeting the 3DO
seems like displays on controllers do not work ... Dreamcast and the Wii u
Honestly, the fact that they switched to flash memory was the most bittersweet thing about the HD. Solid state memory, no moving parts, cuts down on the failure rate. Unfortunately, it was such a hard cut from the 120 GB brick down to the 16 GB pretend-phone.
Love the older models. Shame restoring the old models I have isn't worth the money.
The Wii U is shit and I should know because I had one.
Palm OS
Because SoA and SoJ were too busy shitting each other for the greater part of the 90's leading to stupid business decisions, spend way too much money by making both branches compete for the design of the console and then managed to piss off Microsoft by not using their components (which made the Xbox possible).
That among other things.
SED technology, even if nothing got beyond the prototype stages, i'd have liked to see it in production instead of shitty LCD/OLED:
