Sometimes it's just because people have trouble being productive at home, or are very mobile and need the consistent wifi.

They crave to socialize but they're too awkward or proud to actually engage other people. Go in with 2-3 friends and start a conversation at a table close to them and watch how they soak up every word you say while pretending to look at their screen.

My friends always walked to the library or our student lounge type area to study when I was in college, never got it then either, I'd rather do my shit at home and go out later when it's done, especially on a college campus where people will assuredly come disrupt me to bullshit.

Makes more sense if you imagine somebody that needs to work 8 hours remotely every day, doing that all from home by yourself would drive some people up the walls.

Get a job that allows you to socialize. Or find a hobby/activity that involves talking to others. You won't find people to talk to sitting in a crowd of strangers.

i think it's more that being around people makes you hold yourself to a higher standard. if you're alone in your house, you can walk around half-naked screaming obscenities and shoving junk food in your mouth instead of working because no one is around to hold you accountable.

I work from home and tell clients to do this all the time. Doesn't really affect me all too much, and the few people who I've lost as a result of meeting in "that kind of environment" were usually massive assholes who I wouldn't have wanted to work for anyways. I do good work and have solid recommendations, I get a lot of referrals, and I save several thousand dollars a month on commercial real estate rents.

The only thing I don't have is a Macbook, currently using an Elitebook 2570p as my go-to ultraportable. It KINDA looks like a Macbook Air, I guess?

Not everyone lives in a shitty little town or a deindustrialized city with massive vacancy rates. Most of my clients are located in a high-cost environment. Base rent for even the most basic, semi-private commercial office space runs around $1,500 a month, plus you need to pay a portion of the property taxes, maintenance and utilities, plus parking. It all adds up to roughly $2,200-$2,500 a month. $26,400-$30,000 per year to add what, maybe $5,000-$10,000 to my bottom line? Losing proposition.

Honestly, I think being in a social setting helps with certain subjects or with the setting you're in. I found my student lounge at community college to be a good place to ask for help with core subjects, math especially, because a lot of the people there were taking similar, if not the same, courses. I'm also the kind that can get stuff done from the comfort of my home though, but sometimes its good just to get away and have a change of scenery.

I have a good desk at my house and also a good desk in my own office. Yet, sometimes I struggle a lot to concentrate and actually study or do work.
I'm not saying I'm like the people in the OP, actually I haven't used my laptop in Starbucks or any other Café in like six months, but I've been thinking about trying again to see if my productivity is improved.

There's nothing wrong with old Toyotas, the ones that were still made in Japan. In the 2000s they (and Honda, too) started building factories in the US, employing US workers, to get around tariffs. Quality suffered as a result, now they're barely better than the junk Ford and GM make, since they're made by the same assclowns in the same factories.

Nothing particularly right with them either. There are other options now that are better in pretty much every way, including build quality and reliability.

Even Fords are noticeably better than current Toyotas. (Of course, modern Ford cars are mostly European in design, so maybe that's not a big surprise.) Nobody really makes junk cars anymore, they're all acceptably reliable, so it comes down to stuff like interior design and quality, infotainment systems, performance, etc., and Mazda, Ford, Hyundai, and various others BTFO Toyota these days.
