No. No company is ever going to ask for your social media or if you have one. But I know for 100% certainty that if you dont have a social media presence at all it is a huge red flag and you probably won't get called back after the interview, or in for one in the first place. If you're a somewhat notable person, it could help to have a Twitter account (even if you don't tweet anything at all) and perhaps get yourself verified just in case some troll tries to register an account under your name and tweet controversial stuff that could cost you your entire career.

Brian Krebs just wrote a post on that not long ago. Basically "even if you aren't gonna use it, mark your territory, or someone else might do it first".

Might also be worthwhile just because registering lets you set all the account preferences to "no, I don't want your ad targeting bullshit".
