How often do you reinstall your OS?

I reinstall Windows every couple of weeks because I have nothing better to do and my shit ass comouter work better on a clean install. What about y'all?

At least once a month it keeps my RAMs running ant maximal pcie speeds

wasted literal weeks doing the same but with android

as a thank u from google i get to solve captchas

What the fuck are you installing that makes it so shitty and slow

Windows

Like once every 8 years when I get a new pc.

Firefox and Adobe shit

Adobe shit?

Whenever I watch porn. The installation feels broken so I do another install + change passwords on everything. Most of the time I switch distros just to try them out so that my time wasn't wasted in vain

Every day

About every 3 months on wangblows 10, anything more than that and it starts to degrade quickly. I would go 6-12 months on windows 7 without issue.

I've never really felt the need to clean install linux unless I break something but I usually do it when I do windows just for consistency.

latest reinstalled win8.1 in 2015. Still works perfect.

>reinstall
I pretty much only install windows on new machines or when upgrading from one version to another. Maybe stop downloading all those driver booster programs, OP.

Why not just setup a clean install in a VM and make copies of it whenever you feel the need to have a fresh install?

to much trouble to reinstall all the apps

I'm on a rolling release so it's impossible to install the same thing again unless I have a snapshot saved somewhere.

answer to your question, never. stop being so autistic.

Get some Linux distro bruh

So much stuff you don't need + shortcuts on the desktop. I'm so confused.

I use Arch Linux, so I never have to reinstall.

the state of this board

Since win7 came out only when I upgrade my main drive. I didn't even reinstall it when I switched from intel to ryzen.

About every six months, when there's a new Fedora release. I don't really have to (never had any problems with their distro upgrade tool), but it motivates me to go through my data, get rid of unneeded stuff, sort everything and back it up.

4 years on average

>comouter
>that english in general
no wonder, you're a fucking retard OP

nigga that was a typo. I agree with the emoji tho I am retarded lmao

I think next month is like 3 years since I installed 8.1.
5 if we don't count the 16hours I tried win10 and regret it instantly.

Never?
I installed arch years ago and my system is as snappy as ever

Every so often if I feel my root partition is too small.

Never, OP. I keep backups of my OS from a pristine and perfect state, and since I use just Windows/Macos I don't have to do weekly reinstalls just to keep my os running like Linux users.

maybe once every few years?

But isn't it churning packages enough that it's like reinstalling every week?

Also, do you move your drive from box to box as you upgrade hardware, or install once per box?

Every day because I don't want to leave traces on the internet
>Get on my level

I reinstall every five minutes or so. I have a rolling chain of VMs constantly installing distros, so I just switch from one to the other every 5 minutes in order to avoid being compromised.

I'm not a faggot thus do not need to reinstall.

Never. Because i don't suck at using one.

Whenever the newest version of Fedora is released.

>and my shit ass comouter work better on a clean install.
Stop installing/running garbage...

>dont do shady shit on pc
>only reason to reinstall os is to clean out dead windows files after years of updates

>"better" and "windows" in the same sentence.

same desu

when i feel that my OS works like shit.

Never, I just do apt autoremove && apt purge every now and then.

Never

>not starting the day with a clean install

Never, the only thing that could get me to reinstall is probably breaking it. Although I must admit I have though about it, to delete unnecessary shit and trash from HDDs and make a fresh install, but I'm just to lazy to do that.

>shortcuts on the desktop
I don't have those, but I must say they feel a bit better than my desktop. I trow lots of images/videos/etc. I download but can't be bothered to sort there.
I have almost three full monitors of them now and when they get too full I just trow it all in a folder.
This have lead me to have a folder of 10k+ unsorted shit and another one with 6k+...
>J U S T

Anyone know of any fast way to sort images?

>How often do you reinstall your OS?
You don't if you aren't a faggit and don't install gay viruses.

Original Install Date: 9/25/2011, 4:59:01 PM

anything nice you did with this ableton live suite?

Fast no.
But Hydra is a very complete solution

>Hydra
There are many hydras on google user... What is it?

hydrusnetwork.github.io/hydrus/

I installed Arch for the first time last November, spent about 2 weeks setting it up the way I want, and haven't touched it since. Low ram usage, no backdoor tracking bs, no broken updates, no nothing. Just perfect

ninite and chocolatey?? it solves my problem every time. get pro and literally sync through other windows.

install gentoo

>installing windows in the first place

If you have a LLVM setup (which is the standard since like Fedora 20) you can simply format the root partition and install the new version on it. (Yes, Anaconda let's you do this)
No need to fuck around with /home at all.

>reading comprehension 0%
As expected from a Fedora-fag

>not reinstalling your OS every 6 hours.
It's like you don't even want your PC to run at its optimal performance

About once a year.

Usually once a year.
I'm actually overdue for one by now.
