i mean i feel like under $250 my options are limited but in any case, assuming i'm buying used:
>things i like
- 14"-17" screen, reasonable res for the size
- somewhat big trackpads, never liked the thinkpad nipple
- decent keyboard layout, prefer insert/home/pgup/pgdown/del to be easily accessible though
- decent battery life, can stay alive for like 4 hours just doing normal work
>things i don't care about
- doesn't need to be good for gaymen, but not just integrated graphics either (like a 540m or similar desu)
- doesn't need to have a backlit keyboard
- don't want a numpad
can't be a chromebook because i actually have things to do

A9 APUs are quite good, not as good as most dedicated graphics chips but certainly better than intel/nvidia IGPs. Maybe OP should try to get an A10 just to be sure tho.
Acer build quality is shit tho. Be ready to dump it in 2 years, 3 years tops.

Ah. I work at Best Buy and have customers come in all the time that will refuse to buy a computer if it has one/doesn't have one and I was assuming you were in the same boat.
If you live near a Best Buy go to it and ask if they have any good openbox deals. For example we had two display model Dell XPS 13" laptops that were originally priced just shy of $2,000 and we sold them each for $400 and $500. You can also haggle when it comes to openbox items.
