How do I find the W7 or W8 serial key I used in my W10 upgrade installation?

Is it worth it to specifically avoid getting an Android phone in order to avoid the google botnet?

I'm already used to not having good app support because I've been using a blackberry for years. I'm therefore just thinking of buying an older slightly shitty/outdated phone specifically so I can use the Blackberry OS instead of Android.

No, Windows 8.1 performs worse than 10, if you want to use weak hardware just install Windows 7 or Windows 10 LTSB with Auto updates, defender and telemetry off.

I have a sata/ide adapter and I wanna make a backup of things I have on an ide hdd
do I need to jump the ide hdd to use it?

I'm trying to burn an audio CD for use with my old-ass XP desktop but for some reason I can't get it to actually recognize anything I burn on my laptop as a disc, it just acts like the drive is empty. DISCInfo is telling me that it should be able to at least read CD-Rs. Tried some regular music CDs and they read just fine so I don't think the drive is busted. The program I'm using is ImgBurn and I tried using different file systems in the "Build" mode but I'm thinking maybe I didn't do that correctly. Also tried making a cue file and burning from that in "Write" mode.

Why do some audio files not show bit rate generally have blank properties. Why can't I edit them even if I checked off read-only?
They're usually MP3 or MP4 files. When I look it up, it always says I have to download some program to edit it. Are there no shortcuts?

I have Kali Linux on a laptop in a VM with vmware workstation. Using an Alfa usb wifi card. Everything works as it should. For example airodump-ng will show all nearby SSID's as it should.

Try doing the same exact thing on my desktop rig and Kali recognizes the wifi card but when I run airodump-ng it doesn't show any results.

Try virtualbox on my desktop, same thing.

Try running Kali on a live USB... airodump-ng works fine on the desktop.

I don't get it. I had to make sure usb 3.0 was enabled on the laptop before I finally got it to work (I think both ports are 3.0). But the card doesn't work on 3.0 ports on the desktop. Windows recognizes the alfa card when I plug it in usb 3.0 but vmware and kali don't.

my stupid computer (win 7) will just out of the blue turn the fans on full blast, flash the key modifier lights for like 30 seconds, then shut off. when i reboot it pulls up the safe boot prompt so its not doing a proper shut down. it didnt always do this, and there is no discernable reason to why it started and when it will happen next. is there a log or something i can look at to see what is causing this?

Now that diforfree is likely shutting down, what are some other ways one may be able to listen to di premium streams without forking over money

Here is your problem, you are hitting thermal limit set by BIOS, Your laptop unless you are living in a desert (I live in one) should be under 40°C, not 60°C at idle, anything intensive would trigger it.

Would it be a good way to dual boot by basically setting my HD up as: NTFS: FAT32: EXT4?
I want to use the FAT32 as a home directory I can mount for both OSs, thus letting me have access to the same files no matter what OS I decide to use.

i do live in a desert, and the computer can be running up to 80 or 90 for periods when im doing lots of intensive things with no problems, or sometimes it can be at 50 or 60 and shut down as just happened. but ill take a look in the bios for thermal limiting options but i dont remember seeing any nor an auto shutdown option.

I just bought a monitor mount for my dual monitor setup.
The mount is movable, as I want to be able to occasionally reposition the monitor to suit my need.

My question is this: is there a program available that will allow me to easily switch between different position profiles instead of having to fiddle with the Windows settings every time? It should ideally be free or, barring that, easily piratable.

Yes they were. You just crossed them out. The space is already wasted.

it's a write-once-read-many (WORM) format, you can only write to any part of it once, so deleting something from it only marks it as deleted, you can't erase and re-used the part of the disc the file is in

the R means Recordable, DVD-ROM is read-only
