i don't get why people shit on this one. the whole 'le ubuntu/macbook xD' stuff is kinda stupid. that said, this is a pretty good rice--comfy colors, comfy pape, and a well-modified terminal + bar. optionally, though, you could try changing the scheme to fit the pape's color; usually looks somewhat better or simply nicer.
*very* comfy and retro. the whole white/faded-blue look is nice.
it's not bad, but you could do a bit better. other user's right, you could prolly save your time by adding a couple of aliases. that aside, there's room for improvement on the rice itself--one part being to maybe change some of the i3 stuff, e.g. maybe setting the border to something less *default*. terminal-wise, you could make it slightly more minimal by changing the PS1 a bit in .bashrc; there's a good amount of generators for that one, so that's not a big problem. otherwise, the full-blue scheme is really fuckin' nice. not bad for a few hours.

I thought i3 uses the mouse for focusing and such? You can still use graphical programs in their window/tile. Would like it better if I could use the mouse to move the partitions but I've only used it for a few minutes.
Really the only difference is that you don't have windows floating around the screen or hiding behind any other, which means less annoying and wasted mousework. i3 literally makes your mouse more efficient.
