Why are there so few fanless laptops?

The fan shills caused this

That would lead to extremely poor cooling

that's called an iPad

why cant I find a laptop with enough fans

we must improve the technology. even the Apple II didn't have fans.

Most companies cant get it right

Chips run hot. Existing fanless laptops run slow and hot.

Most Chromebooks are fanless. But if you want any kind of legitimate power from your processor, you'll need a fan.

There is plenty, they are called tablets, if you don't need that much processing power those are the right thing for you

Mi book air 12"

most laptops are much smaller than the Apple II

* CPU Core temp must not exceed 90C
* Device surface temp can not exceed 60C to prevent injury of the user.
* Cooling must work reasonably well in 30C air temperature.

Can't pump much energy out if you only have a 30C drop and no additional air convention.

the apple 2 melted itself if it ran for too long

Because computers dissapate a fuckton if heat. Try running your main desktop without a CPU fan and see how hot it gets.

Excessively inefficient cpus and gpus.

You're a big guy

Apple II had serious overheating problems

Because you cant fit much power into a tiny statically cooled enclosure without having it nuke itself
