Because I was there when Intel pulled this shit on AMD back in the 90s. AMD had better processors than Intel at the time. That's when Intel started ensuring that all top-tier computer manufacturers sold only Intel, and they offered huge kickbacks to ensure it stayed this way.
AMD legit beat Intel in the mid 90s, but no one remembers it because only hobbyists that built their own PCs got to experience their amazingness.
