I like i3 on my laptop because it minimizes the occasions where I have to use my shitty touchpad

xfce with i3wm

Good point. I've never used i3 before, how light/heavy is it compared to Xfce?

Why should I use Xfce with i3? legit question
Wheres the benefit?

Windows 10

I'd say they're both pretty light. I'm also interested in I never thought about doing that

Xfce. All others on the list are shit desu.

Xfce

bspwm

Where is the actual difference between i3 and bspwm? I've read that i3 has better defaults

Gnome is shit
i3 is for nerds
Openbox lol
xfce is based

Whatever the new MacBook pro with i9 comes with. *Dabs*

No but seriously that dabguy is a faggot. Anyway, I only use gnome or mate, and the latter on my laptop.

LxQt

i3

I've also looked at this. Looks very interesting, and the themeing is also really nice. Seems to be fairly light aswell.

Awesome you dumb nigger niglet.

PS: Good quadruple numbers fren

Never looked at Awesome before.

Also didn't notice the quads, but these seem to be indicating i3

just use i3/awesome AND xfce. That's what i do. I usually can do everything with close to default awesome config, but shit like presentations and whatnot is (((too hard))) with it (i am too lazy) and therefore its nice to have a full fledged DE as backup

I3 is way (and I mean very way) lighter than xfce4, because it's just wm, when xfce is a complete desktop environment.

Alright, thanks. I guess I will be trying out i3, i3+Xfce and maybe play around with LXQt aswell

use i3 with a nasty low-quality wifi tray application which doesn't match the theme of your desktop, or just use iwlan every time you move to a new location

under no circumstances must you use KDE and nm-applet since the user friendly aspect reminds you of the worst parts of windows

KDE.

KDE isn't packaged for my distro and I cba to package it myself. Also I hated it every time I tried it so far

Bspwm is autistically daemonized and badly documented

And how does that compare to Awesome?

Awesome is better. Bspwm is just for the "muh minimalism" fags and awesome is configurable in lua

Sounds pretty good. Will try Awesome aswell

i3 provides the most efficient workflow once you're used too it. Plus the keyboard-only navigation is way better on a laptop where you are often forced to use a trackpad.

quads confirm i3
