an app to suck your penis

gentoo

newpipe
afwall+

Attached: tp.jpg (630x630, 66K)

Afwall+ requires root, right?

yes

I have a Galaxy s5 and won't Knox brick my phone if i attempt to root?

>S5

Why would you care about tripping knox on that old piece of shit?

It's all I have at the moment

DNS66

Here are some useful and less-known ones:
Bubble
AnySoft Keyboard
ConnectBot
QKSMS
PipePanic
Forcastie
SunTimes

Is Blokada just as good?

Haven't tried it personally. Also, am not the user that recommended AFWall and when I was rooted I used AdAway,' myself.

Thanks

Blockada is good. Before I flashed Lineage to my Redmi note 4, it was constantly blocking the Xiaomi spyware in their shitty MiUI

I'm wanting to put Lineage on my phone but I'm worried I'll brick it. I'm fairly new to all of this.

Who else /fennecfdroid/?

If you have a suppported device, I highly recommend it. The instructions are very straightforward and easy to follow

>Bubble
comic book viewer

>ConnectBot
ssh and telnet client, and terminal emulator

>PipePanic
game

tachiyomi

is qksms reliable? i've tried many different sms apps but i always revert back to the stock client due to lost messages.

features i really want are swiping between threads and unique tones for contacts.

Forecastie*

Was wondering why I couldn't find it at first lol.

Adaway
AndOTP
Call recorder
K-9 mail
Material notes
Newpipe
Nitroshare
SuperTuxKart (really fun, open source version of Mario kart 64)
Termux
Transdrone
Trebleshot (alt to nitroshare)

It's really hard to fully brick your phone, you basically have to try to do so, most likely you semi-brick which is fixable. LineageOS is worth it.

Attached: Screenshot_Settings_20180726-215115.png (1440x2560, 189K)

comic book? whats that?

Bubble is not a comic book viewer, it's a level. As in the tool. And it works flat as well as sideways

Yes, qksms is reliable. It has many features, like scheduled delivery, delayed delivery, delivery confirmations, blocking, and archiving. It doesn't do what you're asking, though AFAIK.

Ask any stupid questions about it here and I'll answer them if I see them. It's pretty easy you just have to understand that Android and the desktop are two different beasts.

I looked up my phones model and it says the bootloader is locked, so what do I do?

Just flash Lineage and use the root add-on. That's what I have on my S5 right now and it still runs great with Oreo support.
You're the one with the S5 right? Is this your model or do you have a vendor-specific one?
wiki.lineageos.org/devices/klte/install

I daily Fennec and basically sandbox Facebook to Firefox.

Threadly reminder to use micro g instead of flashing a gapps package. If your phone is officially supported by lineage you can get lineage with micro g already built in from here: lineage.microg.org/

>launcher
Trebuchet. Yes it's very limited but I've spent enough time with nova + klwp that I'm done with customization. I just want something foss, fast, and light.
>keyboard
Out of all the ones on fdroid, I still like the aosp one lineage comes with the most. I really miss swiping, but I've gotten used to using it without that feature.

See pic related. Not included in screenshot:
>openVPN for Android
>revolutionIRC
>Tachiyomi
>Telegram
>UnifiedNLP (NOGAPPS)
>vanilla music
>yalp store

The only non fdroid apps I have are google maps and hangouts.

afwall+ is cool, but I'm curious what apps you're blocking with it. If there was an app I was so worried about the internet connection for I would just uninstall it.

Me, but it's trash. I have klar set as the default browser and only use fennec if I want to save a link for later or send it to my desktop. Really wish Mozilla improved ff on android so I don't need two browsers.

why google maps? are open maps bad? haven't used them in a hurry

>afwall+ is cool, but I'm curious what apps you're blocking with it. If there was an app I was so worried about the internet connection for I would just uninstall it.
it's also good for ensuring certain things can only use wifi/lan
i mainly use it to restrict mobila data usage to only a handful of things
this way i can't accidentally open a browser and blow away my abysmally small mobile data limit

No , it wont brick your phone. Use magisk btw.

Test

>ting to put Lineage on my phone but I'm worried I'll brick it. I'm fairly new to all of this.

Ill be here for the next two hours if you need help

How did you get Hangouts to work on microg? It's the only thing keeping me on gapps

Netguard doesn't, but the downside is that it starts after the OS, so you should turn off WiFi before you reboot.
That said, comfy firewall + ad blocker for non-rooted phones.

Not him, but I've tried OsmAnd as an alternative to gmaps, and frequently ran into errors. e.g., routing failure due to being 'too far from nearest road' despite standing 30 feet from the curb on a residential street.
Or, if routing succeeds, it sends me on a beeline to the nearest highway, going straight through buildings and landscape - assuming that I can fly or something.
Not sure if it's just shitty maps for my area or what.

I use the gmaps website rather than the app and framework, and would love to ditch it in favor of an alternative, but can't find any that functions yet.

termux; when you need some GNU
chroma doze; noise generator
connectbot; ssh client
hacker's keyboard; full 5-row keyboard, great for ssh/termux use
osmand; completely offline maps
oandbackup; backup/restore app data
nori; *booru browser
simple gallery; decent replacement for the late quickpic
syncthing; p2p syncronisation system
tap 'n' turn; rotate display by tapping an icon that appears for a second after physically rotating the device, no more turning auto rotate on and off for different things
wifianalyzer; good for finding ideal channels to use
usb mountr; like drivedroid

Do you prefer Mountr?
Ive had issues with Drivedroid

it doesn't do cd-rom emulation (just regular mass storage, like a flash driver), nor does it have an image downloader built in, but it's enough for me, and i prefer to use foss wherever possible

Current outfit:
-Termux and additional modules
-Clover, because I am a shameless phoneposter
-Firefox Klar
-Book Reader, for ebook support and also text reflow for pdf
-Binaural Beats (placebo or not, pleasant diversion)
-DNS66 for adblocking
-NewPipe

Doing just fine for a couple years now with this setup, on a moto g falcon running lineage.

Dude, just put hacker's keyboard together with termux for the first time, wrote a simple html file in nano and it felt good, since my PC is busted right now.
You have any advice or guide links for a bro?
I also dl'd the Python package so looking forward to this

Is Twidere still getting worked on?
The last update of that was ages ago.

Attached: 11331 (1).jpg (484x509, 17K)

You're retarded. Knox is literally nothing. Just install LineageOS on that shit. Your warranty was lost 2 years ago, which is the only thing knox is relevant for. Your security updates also stopped being pushed 2 years ago. You're literally 10 times more secure on LineageOS plus you get the easiest rooting method there.

QKSMS is boated and slow. Silence is much better.

I use it because Firefox has 5 trackers in their app.

Any alternatives to Open Camera? Just want something less cluttered and quicker, since I'm not that into /p/hotography

Simple Camera

Conversations, then join [email protected]

there's a kind of hacky solution to get hangouts working here github.com/microg/android_packages_apps_GmsCore/issues/72#issuecomment-303714674
just note that no images will load (this includes profile pictures).

Just root it man, if there is no warranty anymore why bother
Lineageos website has a guide how to install twrp, then with it you can flash magsik and lineageos

There's also Maps, which as fork of Maps.me without the proprietary blobs; though your problem seems to come from the OSM maps themselves. It must be the zone you're living in, it doesn't have enough mappers.
Have you tried HERE? It's proprietary, but you can download the maps and use it without any Internet connection.

Don't know, but it still works perfectly.

any alternative to mupdf? i enjoy reading books but my eyes hurt with light background.

I'm My issue with OSM is that it doesn't seem to support addresses (unless I'm doing something wrong).
Every time I've tried to look up an address it knows where the road is but not the actual street number.

>afwall+ is cool, but I'm curious what apps you're blocking with it. If there was an app I was so worried about the internet connection for I would just uninstall it.

It's also useful for logging. I only whitelist apps I want to be able to connect to the internet and then I can see which other apps try (and fail) and how often.

It does create annoying situations to debug if you forget about AFwall, though.

What's battery life like

Im on lg g3 and I didnt really see a difference after flashing lineage, totally worth it for no botnet, just make sure to flash the right baseband

Authorizer
Password manager that acts as a keyboard
Requires kernel patch but this is Jow Forumsentoo

Firefox Klar
A browser that isn't bloated

Blokada
Actually good ad blocker
System wide so you can play your normie-fag games without ads

Newpipe
Non botnet YouTube app

AnySoftKeyboard
non botnet Foss keyboard with decent autocorrect

Forecastie
Non botnet weather app. Supports kelvin

AnySoftKeyboard is bae
Switched to kelvin because of forecastie. I can't even read Celsius now.

Why would you just install apps? Search for apps, when you need a specific one

>>ConnectBot
I recommend not bothering with this. I used it for a very long time, but it's very buggy and doesn't seem to get updated anymore. I often have crashes the second I attach to tmux on a remote machine with it, or if I change size (sometimes by accident when I bump a volume button). If you just get termux and set up ssh keys, there's nothing really missing from connectbot.

there's cool stuff out there you might not even think of

That's an OSM problem. Nobody has gone there and written the numbers and shit. My street, for instance, only has the even numbers and even those get up to the 12 only, and the street goes up all the way to the 73.

adaway, newpipe, simple gallery

Tachiyomi for the mangos

Based mangos

tfw at&t galaxy s5 with locked bootloader
does it pull from online sources or is it all offline?

it pulls from online sources, but you can tell it to download new chapters on WiFi and then read them offline.
You can also just move chapters onto your phone/sdcard and read them from tachiyomi.

What about battery life? Blokada has any impact on it?

People have mentioned Simple Gallery a few times, which is a great choice.

Most of that entire group of apps (Simple Mobile Tools) is honestly pretty good if you just want the basic things. Calculator is a goddamn calculator. Calendar is a goddamn calendar. The widgets are the fanciest part.

can it generate a whole comic book file with all of the chapters from a book?

yep, osmand can into addresses, but the openstreetmap data doesn't have the addresses you're after
you can add them yourself, osm is like wikipedia in that anyone can submit edits, and it's no harder than editing wikipedia, either, they have an in-browser editor where you can draw house outlines and fill in details like the street number and building type
i drew in a bunch of houses in my area

fbreader, document viewer

Bubble, the comic reader, is really nice but it puts page 0 at the end instead of 0 1 2 etc....
It's a shame that this bug will mever be fixed

Attached: Screenshot_20180727.png (394x137, 12K)

>old piece of shit
i have lg g3 and it's fine you cock sucking gay nigger

book reader

Try lawnchair as an alternative to trebuchet. It is like a Nova clone almost. The only thing missing for me is folders in the drawer.

I switched from nova to lawn chair. Glad to see someone else mention it. Tho I think they removed the "shown hidden apps" toggle.

any good "hidden apps", you know, ways of hiding apps and storage Knox style so you don't have to feel ashamed about what you have installed on your tablet?

Root is fine.

a launcher that hide apps in the drawer is ok?
i do it with nova launcher

I use it as a secondary browser to Firefox klar.

Klar is just so much faster loading pages quickly to read or check something out

Klar is quite fast. But I can't add my search engine :(

It's fast because it's webview

I don't use it for anything too extensive. It's just a tool. For anything more weird or that I wish for extra privacy I just use fennec

Routerkeygen. There is a shitty unstable fork on fdroid, but the original is very good

Reinder that all webview based browser are potentially google botnet.

>When the user has consented
>If the user has consented and the app had not opted out.

Wow look at that botnet shit.

any book reader with epub support?

Did you look?

Attached: Screenshot_20180727-202516_F-Droid.jpg (720x1480, 101K)

No, no you didn't.

Attached: Screenshot_20180727-202532_F-Droid.jpg (720x1480, 344K)

Are you literally stupid.
What do you mean consent and opt-out means?

Literally "book reader". Best app on Fdroid for books. Night mode amd text flow.

Material notes
Simple Gallery
Tachiyomi
Clover
NewPipe
MySplash

Moon+ reader may not be on Fdroid, but it's the best e-reader I've tried

Yalp Store
