How to tell if getting an amp/dac will make a difference/ be worth it? my devices are a galaxy s8 and the sound card in my desktop says 'amd high def audio' and 'realtek audio'

stax 3100s for like 650

buy stax

Friendly reminder: If you have a system that can do better than 100dB, pls use AT LEAST a CD quality source. It's all about resolution after this point, and mp3 just sucks.

might pick up some electrical infetterance

Will this length cause input lag or sound quality degradation?

I copped the Sennheiser 6XX in a recent Massdrop for $200 USD, feelsgoodman.

>tried 009+T8000 combination with my RME ADI-2 DAC in a local distributor's showroom
>kind of fell in love with the high level of detailness and airy-ness while still could sound punchy especially when trying with Sabaton
>afraid of buying a 009 prematurely because of the infamous channel imbalance problem, which the sample I demo'd in said showroom did also have
>no l700+353X to try because electrostats are extremely unpopular in where I live and the distributor does not have any stock of any Stax headphones and amps to spare
>still want to give T1.2 and HD800S a try as I consider this coming purchase would be an upgrade/compliment to my TH900
Sometimes falling in love with STAX is pathetic.

lag, no (lol)

degradation, maybe. will partly depend on your source

Stax: Upside down DT990 FR freshly imported from Japan!

ya, you have to connect one foot wires individually

>muh inaudible frequencies

too bad it sounds better than your headphones

I agree that treble is vastly over rated.

it's okay to admit your headphones have inferior treble

>zero sub bass but strong midbass
Why

so this is the power of ear rape treble...

I neeeeeeeeed closed back planar magnetics. So far my list of things includes:
Ether C Flow
Aeon Flow Closed
EL-8 Titanium
LCD-XC
Monolith 1060C
Any recommendations from this list or other items?

forgot to add Oppo PM-3

Beats solo

nigga that shits kawaii
i've had one of those cables, it's not good. i had a 6ft but the jacks themselves are noisy as fuck.

also 25ft may not be horrible but id say at that point you need to start looking at putting your source closer to the thing its being plugged into.

Whats a good cheapish amp for my k712's?

I assume you need a DAC, too. Make an offer and lowball this guy. I bet you could get it cheap. $70 isn't a bad price either, though
ebay.com/itm/Monoprice-Desktop-Headphone-Amplifier-Monoprice-11567/183333002727

are you sure its strong enough? I see people online saying they needed 500 dollar amps to provide sufficient power

>ether c flow
you may need to eq down the 6khz resonance, good but overpriced
>aeons
no bass, hazy upper mids/lower treble, overpriced
>el-8t
solid for $350-400. don't expect them to be portable, heavier than average
>oppo pm3
pads barely big enough to be called over-ear, no treble. if you can fix those two things, the clear price/performance winner
>lcd-xc
fucked treble, too heavy
>1060c
no
>lcd-2c-c
looking like a no given measurements

>are you sure its strong enough?
≥ 900mW (32Ω loaded)
≥ 150mW (300Ω loaded)
Plenty of power. Considering how cheap it is, you could always just resell it for what you paid for it, and upgrade to a better amp/dac if you wanted to at some point in the future.

are m40x's very uncomfortable? Everyone always says to replace the pads like its a necessity

Whoever that user was that sent in his HD600 to Oratory1990 for measurements and Harman target EQ, they popped up on there

Yellow is FR with no seal, red is FR with good seal.

What's the cheapest way to buy a K712 Pro? Amazon's price is ridiculous.

what price are you looking for? I have a very-good condition pair I could sell. Its only the headphone, dirty pouch, and the 2 stock cables. everything except the extra adapter and original box

>memed

Attached: 20180727_180353.jpg (1920x1080, 606K)

Speaking of those measurements, can I have a website or something to have a look at what he has done and the methodology and things? Much appreciated to have this because I can easily compare his measurements to others' works.
Also do those measurement include THD, IMD and impulse response? And why Harman target is important?

That was fast. He just got them yesterday.

I got a pair of Panasonic earbuds about 8 months ago and the quality has gone really bad over time.

What is the best thing I can buy to listen to music for up to 20$?

And now that I take a better look at his measurements, that other user that spams about drivers mismatching was actually right.

that's going to clip like a motherfucker on bassy songs lmao

>preamp -9

mechanical clipping of the driver not the signal

Personally, I did much worse to my HD600 and haven't noticed anything wrong but I also don't listen to any music that could be considered as bass heavy. Do you have anything that I could use to see how bad it can get?

>Do you have anything that I could use to see how bad it can get?
youtube.com/watch?v=hmP7TYtDVUU

disclaimer I don't listen to this nigger shit. good for a test track though you can hear bass distortion affect vocals

Thanks, will give it a try once I get back from work.

you could listen to madvilliany again

I want to get a 100€+- headphone but i worry that it will fuck up my ears beyond repair

What’s the most fun headphone ever and why it is Grado RS1?

>again

Pure DF is going to sound awful, trust me.

>legendary grados flagship

No replies so I went to reddit lol, got my self 2 KZ-ED9, one for the laptop and one for the gaming pc

good eartips?

what did you expect?

>Budget
150€, (flexible)
>Location
germany
>Source
PC, mainly for gaming and listening to music
>Type of headphone
full
>Open or closed
closed
>Comfort level
would prefer comfy, i will wear them a lot
>Past headphones
only chink shit

what sound signature?

if you don't mind neutral with a treble spike then DT880
if you want to go for the golden standard of price to performance, then HD600 but you'll have to spend around 250 euros for that, unless you buy second hand which is a good idea.

>Sound signature
i would prefer neutral
also i forgot to mention, are there ones that come with a microphone? the mic doesn't have to be good, just for teamspeak and shit

don't buy ANY headset with a gayman microphone, only exception is the Hyper X cloud 2 which barely escapes being total shit

get a desktop mic or a modmic instead.

UGLY shoes

Is stax a meme or should I buy the srs 4170 system for 2000 aud

Stax isn't a meme.

>srs 4170 system for 2000 aud

YJA it for $800. Also the tube amps are a bit gimped.

I want to lick her feet.

whats wrong with the stax tube energizers?

Their output is limited so various things happen at high volume. A mod is available which substitutes resistors with a modern component, allowing much greater performance. Why Stax themselves have not done this, I don't know.

so don't listen to music for too loud for too long

kenrockwell.com/audio/stax/srm-t1.htm

They're also well liked so YMMV.

>only exception is the Hyper X cloud 2
and this
massdrop.com/buy/massdrop-x-sennheiser-pc37x-gaming-headset?mode=guest_open

You should only buy from Stax mafia approved like a good goy

>$178.50 AUD for HD660S headband

>tfw no ma900

shipping to upside down land a bitch

*snap*

id get those but i dont have 450 on hand.
a quick deep cleaning and those will rock harder than your mom.

So they perform worse than the cheaper Stax energizers?

no shadows/10

You sure? This thing has seen a LOT of oyaji hours.

The 323S/353X has the best performance for price.

>start to question ever buying expensive headphones

Attached: 1518588721236.jpg (575x333, 51K)

How can i get a good seal on those, aren't they ported?

Headphones are first and foremost a status symbol and conspicuous consumption. The only factors that should go into a purchase other than perceived status are looks and comfort. There is no such thing as a bad-sounding headphone above $50, it’s all placebo.

Just tape the pads.

this

Takstar Pro 82 are true endgame headphones

meant this for

Anything Audeze is incredibly uncomfortable, and google "audeze crinkling"

PM3 aren't available anymore

Monoprice is a joke, DMS3 is wrong

MrSpeakers Aeon is your best bet in that list, but it's expensive and wrapped in protein leather ( wears so goddamn easily ).

If I were you, I'd get ZMF classic ( I'm sure he can mod the T40 if you want them completely closed ), Vibro if he has any left or Blackwood with microsuede pads.

Just send him an email he's super nice

Attached: 183_d8fa7974bebad7c52e39d5fbd2618ac5.jpg (1470x1800, 1.97M)

you could get HD 6XXs for the same price though

>"audeze crinkling"

i wish i knew this before i bought my lcd-x

NOS dac, neato

Attached: Historical_Recorder_1_Tracksheet.jpg (3264x2448, 1.77M)

get the L300 ltd + the d50

they are not that bad, they would of course be more comfortable if you buy aftermarket pads, but they are not too expensive

I have been using them heavy for the last couple of weeks and i never have a problem with comfortability. I might buy pads tho for more comfort.

Is the tin audio t2 a meme or is actually good?
