When technology essentially homogenized into desktop and mobile with essentially one platform standard for each and the latter being aimed at normal people. Tech competition also essentially went into duopoly mode, Intel and AMD, Apple and Windows, etc.

So yeah, essentially Jow Forums was only "good" by this definition by like 1-2 years of its life in 2005 so it pretty much has been shit for most of its lifespan. Programming threads also didn't retain quality for long either.
