ZEN SURPASSED K6! TODAY! 21 year after the initial release of K6, AMD DID IT AGAIN! We were direct witnesses of that and it happened TODAY! Open champagne, ladie/s/ and Jow Forumsentlemen! This is a truly historical moment!
Jew Keller did it! Papermaster did it! Super mommy MILF Su did it! And most importantly - WE DID IT! IT'S FINALLY OVER! THE TYRANNY OF KIKES HAS ENDED! TODAY! WE'RE SENDING ALL JEWS BACK TO BABYLON AND GASSING THEM HARD! TODAY! A NEW LEGEND IS BEING BORN RIGHT HERE AND NOW! TODAY!
ALL HAIL TO ZEN! ZEN IS OUR TRUE SAVIOR AND ONLY KIN/G/! WE MADE AMD GREAT AGAIN!
Ayy, Jim "Inturd's cock-sucking eternal shill" Cramer has finally came out of the closet, pulled his head of his ass, and is now admitting the truth of surrounding reality:
Dude Nvidia's market cap is like 150b and Intel's is like 250b.
Qualcomm is 94 billion.
AMD is worth less than an ARM chipset manufacturer, just let that sink in boyo.
Jackson Taylor
Qualcomm isn't just an ARM chip manufacturer, they're an incredibly important company with multiple revenue streams. Ever heard of the Viterbi Decoder? CDMA? Qualcomm was huge long before anyone gave two shits about ARM. Let's not downplay WHY their market cap is what it is.
Landon Bennett
AMD tried multiple times to get into SoC, they aren't capable.
Brayden Martinez
Perhaps because the ARM chips are in every cell phone and more? Guess what? A meme igadget maker is worth more than all of these combined (950b) - according to the stock market.
Leo Bailey
ALREADY DID, BROTHER! TODAY!
Luis Nelson
There are phones with Intel chips, Nintendo Wii and a few dozen popular tablets have Nvidia SoC. AMD never made it past dev boards. I think there was literally like 1 AMD tablet and it had like 2 hours of battery life.
Fair enough, my point however is that AMD only makes chips and drivers for them. QCOM only makes them on the side, and is a giant beast of a company in terms of engineering, research, development, and influence with it's fingers in multiple lucrative revenue streams. They're not comparable in terms of resources.
Ian Jenkins
Diversification and success like that isn't comparable? Intel and Nvidia both do the same thing and they are both worth more than qualcomm. AMD just can't hack it, they gave up a long time ago and rely on brainwashed gamer kids with tight budgets.
Angel Reyes
>big datacenter enterprise customers >brainwashed gamer kids with tight budgets pick one
Gavin Kelly
Lean and Mean bro. Lean and Mean.
Tyler Lopez
Is Lisa Su unironically the best CEO on the planet? AMD was on life support when she took over.
If AMD wanted to be a conglomerate that got by on billion dollar gains relying on returns measured in fractions of a percent, it would do so. Congolmerates are dinosaurs, big heavy placid beasts too big to die, AMD is a Tyrannosaurus Rex, it does one thing and it does it well.
Brody Kelly
Hell, if anything, AMD should seek to buyout weaker competitors and sell off their assets, they are extremely liquid. Diversification would just lead to bloat, they would lose their mission focus.
Brody Green
silicon valley is filled with trust fund babies and patent trolls relying on ancient technology to power shoddy tools and equipment bought by crooked government contractors.
the place relies on wall street to inflate their hot air and rip off consumers so their stock prices will rise, they don't build anything anymore.
Adrian Wright
here, have a nice and fresh celebratory pic. 32 cores boosted to ~4.1ghz at 0.912v
main point (although not entirely explicit, but cear enough) being that the 32 chips will be heavily binned for low voltages. It makes a lot of sense, and for noominal working frequencies, ~1v or sub 1.1v should most likely be the norm for these 32c/64t threadrippers -- PB2/XFR stock settings.
Levi Reyes
>AMD is worth less than one of the largest companies behind the most used architecture on the planet whodathunkit
>K6 was a fucking piece of shit compared to Intel CPUs at the time ahahahahahahaha hahahahahahaha ahahahahahaha hahahahahaha ahahahahaha hahahahaha ahahahaha *breath in* hahaha ahaha haha aha ha a
He's one of the few Jow Forums tripfags who actually deserves the bullet.
Colton James
that's not AMD's demerit. That's intel shenanigans doing dog's work. working perfectly and as intended. Strong arming amd out of the entire mobile segment. Case in point: ryzen is successful as fuck. Now go find all of those Ryzen powered laptops. Good luck with all of the 12 models available.
Jaxon Wood
True, but AMD did the same to ATi. It's the ebb and flow.
John Wood
give it time user, OEMs forgot how to work with two different cpu manufacturers
Jayden Bailey
time will only let that contra-revenue 2.0, mobile revengeance, accrue even more. This is the one thing that deserved a concerted screeching against AIB's and OEM's.
Liam Williams
>uses ! not once, but I want to literally skullfuck you t.1600 user
Nolan Johnson
Samefag that doesn't remember how K6 and K6-2 were socket 7 and basically "super Pentiums" that still had no on-chip L2 cache and like Pentium, the motherboard L2 cache was only FSB speed (66mhz for early chips, 100mhz later).
Pentium Pro had L2 cache in the CPU itself at full speed, so a 233mhz PPro had 233mhz L2 cache, and Pentium 2 had 1/2 speed L2, so a 300mhz P2 had 150mhz L2. All these chips fucking destroyed K6 to K6-III because of this. K8 is when AMD caught up.
AMD did not even win on the low end. Never heard of the Celeron 300A? That CPU was P2 based but had 100% speed L2 cache, and ALL of them could be flipped from 66mhz to 100mhz FSB for a 450mhz clock, which DESTROYED everything AMD had at the time and even cannibalized the 50% L2 speed P2s.
It's like you really don't remember any of this because you were never involved in it.
>the boards resident retard doesn't know about Geode Even pure shitposting retards from /v/ bring higher quality to the board, why is he still not banned?
