Mozilla Revamping Firefox Icons

System 1>System 2 even though it looks like the gitlab logo.

I prefer system 2

System 2 reminds me to much of UC browser.

1 looks like crap
2 looks like crap on a dark background

>Hiring women

Here we go again. New icon again. Stop it!

Overhauling brand? How about the overhauling memory management in Firefox?

Second Row of System 1, but keep the rest of System 2.

it s garbage and unnecessary fuck you mozilla im never coming back

Did they really fire all there developers for this shit?

if you're going to go flat and unrecognizable, toss away the colors, smooth out all the edges, and do chinese shadow puppets, or line art. that's going to be really easy to spot amongst other monochromatic shapes and icons

Attached: Firefox-512.png (512x512, 25K)

I see Mozilla has its priorities in order...

Attached: Black-Circled-Social-Media-Icons-760x504.png (760x504, 137K)

We need to take care of this shit once and for all.

>ANOTHER FUCKING icon revamp
Didn't we have one a year ago when 57 released?

>firefox is killing itself
>chrome is implementing exclusive protocols like old-IE
>zero proper alternatives exist
hell...

Don't fuck with an established brand. There's a reason why Microsoft kept the "blue E" when they released Edge.

No. All they did was change the Firefox Beta icon's color.

They did change the icon for all 3 channels.

Maybe you are a Chromefag.

Attached: firecuck.png (1800x850, 243K)

They just changed the fucking icon last year. Mozilla really has more designers that have no idea what to do than programmers now, doesn't it?

When did they change it from Focus to klar?

I design the logo

Have you not been using it lately? As you don't seem to know about their massive overhaul.

Attached: lFrxtaJ.jpg (480x853, 19K)

Yes. I tried it not long ago. Memory usage is worse with the same sets of tabs on Chrome. They literally lied about the lower memory usage. It's lower but still needs plenty of works.

Klar is germany version. You can get it from F-Droid.

is this the hourly mozilla hate thread?

Yes sir.

They all look so unprofessional. Can't take them seroius.

>The news changed a bit when more tabs were involved. With 30 tabs open, Firefox Quantum averaged 3,883MB of RAM from six processes and Chrome averaged 4,151.3MB from 34. As Mozilla touts Quantum's facility with multiple tabs, this is good to know, though Firefox was more sluggish keeping up with multiple simultaneous YouTube video streams. (Both browsers flipped through and closed tabs snappily.)

laptopmag.com/articles/firefox-quantum-vs-chrome

Oh, is there a reason it's differently named?

didn't the reason why jewtube is worse on ff come out recently?

That shouldn't really matter with the videos themselves, should it?

Why would I use Firefox over Chrome?

What's the benefit and negative of Focus over vanilla?

I've had problems in the most recent FF with videos turning black when trying to play them but the audio can still be heard. Hopefully gets fixed soon.

dunno, it's why i'm asking

It's great if all you really use your mobile browser for is quick searches/browsing. Lighter, faster, more simple, pretty good on privacy by default (I think the Klar version is even better on privacy than Focus). Pretty much load it up on phones for family members who don't know mobile browser tabs even exist, prevents them from having 500+ tabs without knowing after months.
But ultimately if that's not how you browse, then it's a hassle because it has no tabs and not as much customization as vanilla.

>laptopman.com
Are you high? I do my own tests! Get off my lawn nigger.

i'll make the logo

klar has telemetry turned off by default and has no binary blobs

wat

>simplified logos
>flat design
STOP MAKING EVERYTHING UGLIER WITH THOSE BULLSHIT TRENDS

>flat design
>literal gradients and shadows to provide depth
excuse me sweetie but are you blind?

I was thinking generally, sorry for the confusion

your apology is accepted hope you have a wonderful week

thanks user, but currently there is barely anything good going on in my life :/

system 1 looks like gitlab logo

that'll change soon
if nothing else know that someone else around the globe has high hopes for you and wants you to live the great life you deserve

thanks again. have a good week too.

thanks user i wsa about to ask why nobody had posted this

obvious from the frogposting

they all look like crud

Both are shit. Fucking women out of technology now.

>sjewzilla is paying someone to do this
what did soros mean by this?

not all frogposters all like that

It's laptopmag.com, not man.

sure thing sweetie

mozilla still exists? lol

Mozzilas leadership needs to be purged.

This is fucking retarded. Why the hell did this minimalism art trend take off? Any why do big companies think it looks appealing? This is almost as bad as the Patreon logo

I'm gonna blame Microsoft, and then afterwards Apple and Google for blindingly following them like dumb idiots.
Somehow it feels like a step back from skeumorphism.

Based

I like system 1 more too

2004-05 is definitely the best

>30 tabs
>3.9gb of ram
where did everything go so wrong?

Attached: 1508615548561.png (1011x720, 284K)

if the world was full of people with common sense like this guy and not with mentally deranged sjws, it would be such a great place

This is why tab unloading is important to use, and why I'm pissed the quantum transition killed the best addons for it

The bottom is definitely better, the top is too in line with other brand designs
guaranteed not to stand out

>tab unloading
or just use fucking bookmarks like a normal person

No

Post this on /gd/ and don't mind anything Jow Forums says, they're developers (or neet technology hobbyists) with no sense of what design is or is meant to be.

I mean, just look at any "free" software icon design, (especially GNU's) they're all shit (emacs is the only one I find mildly redeemable, and I'm not talking about the old one that shows up on startup).

Attached: IMG_20180729_201326.jpg (1080x1098, 129K)

2004 and 2009 are the best
i hate the yellow tail and flatshit designs, but 2017 klar is pretty decent.

They look so fucking awful, what the fuck is wrong with Mozilla?

>Having icons

Clearly its the logo why they are losing marketshare

Attached: Firefox being retarded.png (1922x38, 4K)

>Designers asking other designers about things designed for people other than designers
Not like that ever went wrong.

Focus uses android webview which is basically chrome. It's as fast as other webview browsers but they're all less secure than vanilla Firefox.
focus/klar are limited to having only 1 tab loaded (you can still multi-tab). It clears all history when you quit it, including downloads you made through it. It's very privacy oriented. Klar (not Focus) has telemetry turned off by default because of Germany and a few other countries don't like opt-out telemetry.

This is true, but I still prefer the 2 logos made in 2005 and 2009.

Attached: firefox possible redesign 2.jpg (800x5880, 1.1M)

System 1 is better everywhere except the "apps" section.

What are those icons?
Never seen them. I only see the logo when starting the browser, and then the retarded icons next to the url bar.
>newspaper icon
reader mode, OK, I get that
>…
Copy/send URL (WTF? Why not just click the url if you wanna copy it, instead of some stupid icon)
Send to device (who on earth uses such a botnet?)
Take a screenshot (that you then need to screenshot with your OS screenshot tool since this retarted thing saves it to some random webpage, or you download it from that page, and have a copy living online for everyone to see)
bookmark page…
>star
Bookmark page… cue Xibit… I heard you like to bookmark stuff, so now you can bookmark next to bookmarking…
>another, slightly different newspaper
defaults to bookmarks again
>a burger thats fallen to the floor
Yeah, bookmarks again!
Only in unusable, since it is not a normal menu where the subitems pop out, but you need to click and it moves, loosing your info about the path you've taken and having you have to refocus your attention all the time on where you wanna mouse, because every fucking thing is moving
>burger
book… Oh, woah, not bookmarks this time!
Actually, some things among the redundand crap that you migh wanna use, but again:
Retard menu style.
So just press tab to get a proper menu. Why bother with those icons at all?

But at least the new ones don't have 20 different skin colors and genders, but I guess that's coming with the next generation.

I have 900 tabs open in firfox and it's fine, Chrome lags out before 200.

>900 tabs
Damn, dude, I'm a tab hoarder myself, but you gotta seek help!
Currently at around 100 or so, but still, that's way too much.
Oh, and gnome is also retarded, but sadly, KDE has some bug that only affects me, it seems, and I'm not autistic enough to go for some handweaven DE/WM.

Attached: mem.png (318x121, 13K)

But still, could be worse…
That's about 700 MB for 8 Jow Forums tabs open.
Fucking Chrome is crazy.

I guess it's important but does anyone get lil' annoyed when you realize these people get paid mid six figured to do this?
I'm biased but at developers feel more real.

now with screenshot.

Attached: chrome.png (309x512, 22K)

Install YouTube Classic addon

Shouldn't impact actual media playback, just the load time of pages/UI I believe.

YAMERO

SOMEONE PLEASE FIX THE WATERFOX ICON THE OPEN SPACE IS IN THE WRONG ROTATION

built in screenshots

>built in botnet
Fixed it for you. The firefox screenshot tool is harmful.
But anyways and as always:
Opera did it first!
And better.

It's not the developers and coders who are designing the logos

what are they going to do with my pics user?

Attached: 1506326663748.png (398x148, 5K)

store it online for no reason at all.
Also, it's broken:
Just wanted to take a screenshot of the above and link it here, just to prove my point, but
>sorry, we can't take a screenshot, because you are trying to snap something that's not a webpage
So, why bother?

what's wrong with this webpage?

you are tiny and weak
deleted a few hundred yesterday
