Hail Zeus!, the almighty GOD!
Rampge III extreme.
Still got one laying around.
Shit was able to use 3+ TB HDDs back when no other shit was outside of some RAID cards.
Could handle the 6 core big boy xeons and overclclock the shit out of them, etc.
>based UD3
My nigga.
world record celeron and core 2 duo overclocks incoming
best motherboard ever built coming through
Back when you could take a soldering iron to your board (if you had an older revision) and make a Pentium-II (450mhz max) dual CPU motherboard take Pentium 3 1 GHz CPU's on motherfucking riser cards.
well not riser, slotket whatever it was called.
just kidding it's a POS
also
Even the 990FXA GAMING they made was fucking terrible, they put a 6+2 phase VRM on the board, claim it can run a 9590, and charge $140 for it.
I found one of these in the garbage the other day with bent pins. I straightened them and it worked. Although, only on Ram slot works. What is unlikable about them?
Not a motherboard.
I bought one about 13 years ago and thought they couldn't still be that sh*tty or they'd have gone outta business
nope.
not going to do 20 capthas per post
I was memed into buying that board.
It was a literal meme.
Then what is it?
Protip: It's a motherboard.
No. It has no slots for expansion boards.
You could claim the GPIO can function as such, due to hats, but it's fundamentally different, rather than being a single bus it's more like a collection of different communication and power lines.
I like that point out major flaws, most people don't. But I'd still consider it a motherboard. However I'd call it sbc, single board computer.
SBC - Single Board Computer
that you*
probably the only one that worked before the pins got bent
I still have my P6T Deluxe V2 laying around crying out for an overclocked X5675.
Upgraded from it to a Rampage 4 Extreme with a 3930k that I think I'll be using for some time to come.
Absolutely gorgeous.
>republic of gamers
Holy fucking cringe
Anyone who posts a single CPU board is a moron.
>Holy fucking cringe
Cringe
I love this little beast
Checked, and ASRock is fucking based for even making that.
>6950X in a Fractal Node 202
My body is ready
Oh, good times! Based Rampage Extreme x48. One of the best motherboards I've owned.
>X58 motherboard
Im still using a Sabretooth X58
X58 really was the start of it all.
We even got the EVGA SR-2, as short-lived as dual socket extreme overclocking boards were.
>MSI
fuckers sat on a returned 980Ti for two months before offering check as an RMA card wasn't possible.
was going to buy my threadripper 2 board from them.
Wait until some mad company makes an X399 ITX board.
Why post something like that ITT? It literally has "complete and utter trash" printed on it.
R8
Back then NVIDIA was pretty good, unlike now.
I'll let that pass.
The god board.
Too bad they never became cheap on ebay.
God I miss being able to easily mount fans onto motherboards with those screw mounds on the north bridge and stuff.
What even makes a good motherboard?
Whelp, I won't be needing these pants any more
I remember a time where one of these and an Athlon XP 1600+ was untouchable by anything Intel.
>no USB 3.1 support
>Z97 gaming 7
werks for me, however the top x16 slot's clip fucking broke
I have always wanted one of these two boards. Fuck the fact i need a case and PSU necessary to support them or the fact the damn Skulltrail board only takes FB-DIMMS, I wanted one of them.
The closest we'll ever get to the SR2 these days is Threadripper-based systems as they also have 2 NUMA nodes and a metric fuckton of PCI-E lanes.
This is the one for me.
Just how hot were chipsets back then that they needed a cooper heatsink
This was a mistake, I feel sorry for those who've actually paid money for one.
The best looking motherboard ever made
>not a Rampage 4 Black Edition
This is where you're wrong.
Wassup.
>not the superior P2B-DS variant
why.
Rock stable, overclockable as fuck (especially with x86-secret modded bios).
Why is there no such thing as an lga 1155 board with at least 6 sata ports, raid, at least one pci-e 16x gen 3 slot, at least 4 DIMM slots that isn't still 300 dollars in 2018?
>only 2x usb ports
Dropped
>not using asus front panel with 2 additional USB ports
wat r u casul?
I like this
If you don't have the big shekels to spend on the expensive ROG ones, X 299 designere ex is a fucking good little board. Good enough that the big companies that build custom computers for $14,000 shekels are using it:
By that definition many laptops with soldered in cpu gpu and ram are also sbc and have no motherboards.
How come nobody posted this
I'm disappointed
Behold the legend.
Running home Q2/HLDM server like a 1337.
>Rock stable, overclockable as fuck (especially with x86-secret modded bios).
If you don't encounter the keyboard problem, that is.
Bad caps ruined the company.
I agree with you on one half though, ABIT boards were the best otherwise.
I guess mine was a lucky one. An it used to be my main rig for 8 years.
I had a board very much like that with two P3 1.4GHz Tualatin processors.
Oh it was probably actually.
you may not like it, but this is what peak perfoance looks like
Last Intel consumer tier board
>with two P3 1.4GHz Tualatin
If it was a P3-S CPUs you are one lucky motherfucker.
>NOT AM4 socket
>only DDR3 non ECC up to 2000MHz
>ONLY USB 2.0
>NO M.2 slot
More like shit tier.
In technology latest is the greatest.
Fuck off with your garbage fucking 18 year old boomers
>NO M.2 slot
Fuck your bullshit M2 and AM4.
>really wanted one
>it's actually buggy as fuck
>got z170 pro gamer because cheap and stable
>still jelly
welp
em
dot
two
plus usb 3.1 gen2 pcie card inside the box
Absolutely legit board
ew, that design is way too edgy
its god tier and your shitboard knows it
>god tier
keep telling that to yourself you deluded nignog
I love it :3
nice ad hominem user but it's still the best board for not-so-good but still perfectly usable cpu line
>fx
literally the worst, had one choke on fps with a rx560 and a 1080ti
i can't believe how stupid you are
How so?
I mean if you don't overclock there was no reason to get a nf4 lanparty other then if you liked the looks..
But those boards were hands down the best boards for socket 939, I had a Opteron 175 2.2ghz dualcore running 3.2ghz from 2006 to late 2009 on a NF4-D.
Board still works to this day, and still overclocks the same.
best board i have ever owned, god-tier memory support (comparable to good z97 boards) and able to comfortably push fx 8-cores past 5ghz despite being 890fx and not even having official support for piledriver
the two boards ive had from asus. the crosshair iv forumla and crosshair vi hero are both pretty good
honestly i hate how companies are trying to make every thing now.
haha i was just given one of these. looks impressive but i dont think ill bother which much oc on it due to ipc limitations
That board was total bullshit. Northbridge was always 90+°C. Sent in mine for replacement after it got fried.
I had a shitty gigabyte mATX one which fried itself within 6 months because you could fry an egg on the north and south bridges. Still got a 990FX going strong though with zero problems so far
