OP here, that was literally my speed as of two days ago before I changed ISPs. Not bad for DSL desu, you can stream and torrent fine, you just can't upload videos worth a damn.

What's the minimum up/down speed you consider tolerable for daily use?

50/50 for a single person.

200/200 for a household with teenage kids.

Wish the ISP gave faster upload, but it's okay

Attached: 7518536612.png (350x200, 20K)

Am I doint this right?

50/50 is great IMO, not a minimum, unless you stream 4k video I guess.

50/50 allows for simultaneous uploads and downloads while streaming and or gaming.

If you're an average person then maybe 25mbps, but for someone on Jow Forums 50mbps really seems like the minimum acceptable in 2018.

Fair enough, on my 16mbps DSL connection I had to make sure everything (Steam, Bnet, Dropbox) was throttled so that my streaming/gaming would be stable. With my new 70/70 connection (ranges from 40/40 to 70/70 depending on ISP load), I don't have to throttle. Or if I do throttle, I can throttle to something sizeable instead of tiny.

Actually it ranges from 100/100 to 20/20... usually 70/70. It's a small local ISP but it's the best option I have where I live in San Francisco at $35/mo unless I pay for Comcast Business which would be around $200 for the same speeds (Comcast residential upload speeds are pathetic).

>Comcast residential upload speeds are pathetic
unless you're blessed with luck and live in an area with 2gbps FTTP or 10gbps FTTP from comcast.

$6.5 is like a years wage in Hungary

Nice try, Hiro's bitcoin mining bot.

On wifi with my phone.
On Ethernet I have a bit more than 600 down and 350 up. And I pay 34 yuros a month.

Comcast still tries to get me to switch from this to 60mb with a cap for the same price lmao

Attached: Capture.png (1026x140, 21K)

Oh, and I pay $75/mo for this

oh but they do have a cap for your fiber and they will eventually worm a clause in there to fuck you no matter how you think you're dodging the system with your little nigger dabs, one day the dab gonna dab you back.

>cap for your fiber
literally why would any FTTH ISP institute a cap?

My third world uncapped fiber.

Attached: 7518944535.png (350x200, 20K)

This is with Centurylink and in addition to claiming on their site that there's no cap I've never ran into any issues even during months I torrent endlessly in a house with 7 other people who watch netflix and youtube all the time

hmm

80/10 FttN VDSL2+ something something. DDWRT's HTB+FQCodel QoS turns it from your standard shit dsl into something usable for a small bandwidth hit. Its poor people internet, but its functional.
