Did you even read the edit part?
Here is the annoucement
so I short, after 1st of November, if you don't have Android 8, you can't install newly published apps
>while still allowing your app to run on older android versions (down to the minSdkVersion)
It means you can still run old versions you dumb cunt
it means no new apps, no updates.
This doesn't say anything about leaving out support for older versions, Google is giving lazy developers a boot in the ass, the ones who are still using older API levels I assume because they still work in Oreo.
Android is such a fucking meme anyway for software support, I have a 2016 Samsung A5 with me which it's most recent update is Nougat. 2 years for a mid range phone? Meanwhile the 5S is still getting updates
>I'm retarded: the post
Install Fdroid.
>you can't submit your app unless it target SDK 26
I think he meant because you bought Samsung.
>buy
dumb tripfag kill yourself
Actually kill yourself, tripfag
Even broken clock is right twice a day. Non flagship samsumg is piece of crap software wise. During time i had galaxy core lte it was updated once.
Well I can just use an Oreo custom rom.
>he doesnt know what the target api means
That's not the minimum required Android version you dumb shit, it's the version of Android the app is built against.
You can still support Android 2.2 while targeting Android 8.0.
Target = the version of the Android SDK you build against.
minSDK = the minimum version of Android your app requires to run on.
lol idgaf
This is to stop developers from continuing to target the fucking gingerbread API with their old ass bullshit, nothing to see here
>loogle pajeets defending their designated shitting streets
how much are you paid per post?
>Android user
>Doesn't use a Pixel device
Lmao @ u r lyfe
>android user
lmao @ ur lyf
>defending forcing app developers to use the newer sdks which contain performance and security updates is a bad thing
>especially when using the newer sdks doesnt mean users need to update to new devices
The only problem here is that brainlets don't understand what targeting an SDK version means in relation to building Android apps.
>Using devices with no headphone jack
Use a goddamn Oneplus phone.
>no hardware locking
so basicly you get a rom and get done with it
what a suprise
