You bought an EVO, not a PRO. Don't talk to me poorfag. I hope your 3D TLC chips fry out a week after warranty. Take your shitty consumerist thread and go back to grade school.

A crappy usb thumbdrive. Just 16gb, 2.0 and the shit was 10 bucks. I was in a hurry.

I got the Passport 2TB for 60 bucks on ebay

R9 270X was the last piece of tech I bought.
Haven't needed to upgrade anything since.

This.

Before this was a Essential PH-1 phone Filco mech board, Audioengine A5+ speakers, LG 65" Oled (2018), LG soundbar, LG 4k player. All in a span of around 2 months.

Back to your containment board.

A 240 GB SSD for my wife's laptop. It was 35 or something on Amazon. Pretty sure she's gonna order a duplicate for mine though as she gets all bent out of shape if our shit isn't 'matchers'

It was this bastard. Doesn't seem to be in stock at that price anymore though lol

cute

The DRAM controllers on those are supposed to be shit or completely absent though.

>evo
>not pro
nigga what are you doin?

I "acquired" a thinkpad x220 yesterday. It's in pretty mint condition except for a small crack at the palmrest, where the touchpad is.

One of the sales guys at microcenter confirmed to me that its completely absent

There is no human who can tell the difference between the Evo and Pro during any use.

M.2 ssds are a meme anyway as you can't tell the difference between them and sata ssds.
Might as well buy the ssd with twice the storage space for the same price.

M.2 is way fucking faster what are you talking about it's essential for your boot drive Linux and windows basically load instantly

A Zippo lighter. The one I'm using is getting a bit rusty. I mean it been a few years since I bought it so I guess it's a good thing to switch to a new one. It still works well tho.

Attached: Rusty3.png (429x428, 173K)

Ok you save 10 seconds loading windows in the morning, then what?
You can't transfer files quickly between storage devices unless you have 2 x m.2 ssds.

These earphones for 19€ because I bought an iPhone X previously, they are pretty decent for the price.

I can tell the difference easily between a sata and an nvme ssd, but then again, I have the computer to go along with it. Consumer-class hardware can't really create a situation where storage speed is a massive enough bottleneck.

M.2 is a form factor. SATA SSDs can also be M.2. You're talking about NVMe.

This count?

Attached: 20180803_135537_HDR.jpg (773x1218, 451K)

You're retarded.

I've been using bcache on SSD as a backend for my mechanical drive, and replacing my SATA SSD with an M.2 drive made a huge difference. I noticed the most improvement when dealing with VM images.

hnnnnnnng

You're bottle necking at the hdd's read/write speeds.

I have a 500GB wd blue from December 2010 and it's still running fine in my pc which I pretty much use daily.

>not oled

It's cheap for a reason

Why choose crap when Makita, Metabo and Fein exist?

EVO 860 512 GB for me :)

nice cop, where?

>Ok you save 10 seconds loading windows in the morning, then what?
>You can't transfer files quickly between storage devices unless you have 2 x m.2 ssds.
Wow what a fucking stupid post.
ALL applications load 10x faster. SWAP runs almost 20x faster, games load faster (cutscenes, new map on game server, etc.). Databases perform 10-20x better since large chunks of data need to be sorted through before it can be dumped into ram.

We've reached a point where secondary storage speed is more pertinent than DRAM speeds.

Same

Attached: IMG_20180727_191520027_HDR.jpg (2448x3264, 1.38M)

I'm replying because I'm fucking dumbfounded that you think the primary use of fast storage is transferring data from drive-to-drive.

>ALL applications load 10x faster
There is no perceptible difference between a SATA and NVMe SSD in that regard, and if you claim otherwise, you're full of shit.

Seems like poor people have more patience

oooooooooh

couple of these for the NAS

Enjoy that placebo.
techreport.com/review/33707/western-digital-black-1-tb-nvme-ssd-reviewed/5

It the application where you'd save most time if you were to utilize m.2 read/write speeds.
In normal usage when gaming/browsing internet the gains are so small it's not a smart purchase over sata ssd. You have to balance it with using larger sata ssd to store data you use for stuff vs having a smaller m.2 ssd at the same price and you struggle with storage space. In most peoples usage cases buying a m.2 instead of a larger sata ssd does not make sense.

A desk LED lamp.

Next will be probably a triple pack of Corsair ML120 fans.
Which ones? I recently ordered these Xiaomi earphones for ~24 €, I'm very excited about how they sound. My old ones are mono only now.
Why? Two PCs? I slightly regret having bought a 250 GB 960 early 2017, but the space suffices in my HTPC. Also its so fucking fast, it boots in seven seconds.

>no variable transmission
you fucked up, dude

why do you have 3?

>spending twice as much for pure convenience in a tool that will get used once in a while
Nah. The cheap variables available here are trash anyway, it was hard enough picking out a halfway decent unit under $300 to begin with.

>reloading equipment
>3 boxes of european made ammo

Eurofag perhaps?

I already fucked it by spilling a little beer on the keyboard, but i gave the keyboard an alcohol bath and am letting it dry out.

I fucking love this little thing.

SP2, SP2017, Go. I also bought a Surface 3 off ebay for 30 dollars because it was dropped and use that as a file server.

Perhaps.

I'm curious what kind of scenario leads one to have a gaming pc in the same room as a drill press

Should I buy the 1tb 970 pro or evo? What's the difference? I'll be gayming on it.

OLED is a meme, enjoy your burn in especially if you game.

Pro. Pro has much higher TBW, especially a 1TB model. And the Pro is substantially faster. 970 Pro is the highest upgrade you can make to a PC.

key2

a fridge

A small house, mostly.

Why was it so cheap? Refurb? or from a friend?

man when you buy that milling machine you gotta make room somewhere

thanks for the link. sata SSDs all the way. Thinking 2TB since its getting cheaper. And I've got to reserve this m.2 slot though.

if you're buying m.2 nvme 970, might as well consider the pro. don't make the same mistake

Still wondering why people who probably don't do any large file transfers have these. The 4K speeds just aren't worth it over a Sata SSD

nigger, shut the fuck up, you don't know SHIT

pfffthahahhahahah RIP

Please explain to me in detail what work you do with 4K or higher resolution video editing or what sort of mental illnesses you seem to possess.

DT770s are what I last bought and actually got my hands on. I'm still waiting for a FiiO E10K to arrive, shitty delivery is late since it should've been here yesterday.

Attached: IMG_20180730_135421 crop small.jpg (1545x1747, 1.71M)

Burn in is a meme. And no, I don't game. Deep blacks give so much quality to the picture, more so if watching in a dark room. Miss me with that led backlighted black.

860 Evo boot time: 12 seconds
970 Evo boot time: 9 seconds

Booting with NVME is kind of redundant, but those RWs come in handy when doing actual work with large files and data sets, like moving a raw video file thats over 160gb where that 6-8x speed starts to really shine.

I really need to get new pads for my DT990s, they really gross and flat

The problem is you are then bottlenecked by SATA SSDs. I moved on and only use them in my main PC. NVMe is for fast boot and gaymes/programs. I guess I'll move on to NVMe only when PCI4 arrives because currently I could not use 2 NVMes without losing lanes for my GPU.

PCIe x8 is fine for single-GPU, don't let that hold you back. Only SLI chokes and fucks up on x8, but I assume you're not using it.

Tin T2
So far pretty satisfied with them. The plug is complete garbage tho.

Attached: 1527217150743.jpg (1042x1389, 398K)

Works perfectly. I got like 20 i5 3570 cpus just sitting in a drawer so might as well use a few.

Looks comfy as fuck user. Chinkshit ultrabook? Model?

Do they sound... tinny?

almost everything in pic related
>EVGA GTX 1050Ti
>Ryzen 5 2600X
>Gigabyte Aorus whateverthefuck gaming xd ultra™
>16GB 3000MHz Corsair kit, it's either b-die or one of the lucky kits that just werks. On AMD's official QVL
>ADATA 500GB NVMe SSD
The HDD, case, and power supply were all left over from my last build. I mostly do programming with this thing so the GPU is sufficient. Excited to try fucking around with CUDA eventually.

This shit's fast as fuck and it runs unbelievably cool. My old build (FX-6100, 8GB RAM, AMD FirePro V4800) ran alright but it would get warm under load. The only time I've heard the fans spin up with this thing was when I ran Prime95 on it.

Attached: 0724180807a.jpg (3587x2620, 1.42M)

filename made me jej
why do you have so many i5s desu? May I have one?

>FirePro

duh, hence the name

GPD Pocket 8gb.

Looks like the water damage is isolated to around the spacebar. I might have to replace the keyboard if i cant dry it out with heat, so I ordered a new keyboard on ebay. this thing is easy to take apart and its really comfy because of that.

Company I work for has a policy of old PCs. MUST DESTROY/RECYCLE VENDOR. Well clarified that with case/motherboard/memory/hard drive.
Sooo... pull the cpus, some dvd-rw and cables. Saves on some cash.
