best earbuds up to 100$?
my phone has a jack so not necessarily wireless

First for Klipschhorn best horn

Attached: 20180518_083711_HDR.jpg (2667x1500, 1.15M)

Is there really that big a difference in earbuds?

Can I use studio monitors for casual listening for turntables? Or should I spring for something else?

What a coincidence. I was just using my personal Klipsch devices in my home, in this photo I took just now.

Attached: RP-Lifestyle-3-Social.jpg (1200x801, 226K)

They'll do fine.

Obviously, Klipsch earbuds are the only ones you would consider.

What are the best subwoofer brands to buy? Is SVS good? Rythmik?

Attached: cinderspeakers-gifbit.jpg (643x429, 44K)

Most are good. 12 inch is about the right size unless you have a very large room.

This user gave interesting comments on Bag End:

That was the demo room they set up at the pilgrimage event this year

SVS if you have the cash absolutely

Compression driver or dome with some plastic in front of it?

There was discussion about MEG subwoofer and their cardiod thing, looks interesting to me, but never heard them unfortunately.

Compression driver all day every day user

Does placing near field monitors further apart (angled in) create more soundstage? even a little bit?

toe in? more defined, less wide image

Attached: fronts1.jpg (1024x768, 343K)

I told you to stop taking photos of me and my speakers.
You're like those idiots that lean on my Koenigsegg's hood and take pictures.
When I find you I'll fucking PC Speaker you to death you audiophool.

It exaggerates the stereo image. Things on the sides will sound entirely lateralized.
Ideally your speakers and listening position create an equilateral triangle

I already have mine in an equilateral triangle . So if I straightened them out I'd get wider sound stage but less of a direct feel?

no, you'll get a stereo image that sticks to the sides with a hole in the middle

Well, different speakers have different dispersion characteristics and different rooms have different reverb. So my advise is try it!
It should all be easily reversible no?

Attached: 1532142511339.jpg (1280x550, 116K)

You know who sticks to the sides AND has a hole in the middle?

I'll give it a quick test, but I wasn't expecting it to work well anyway. Thanks.

your dad in a gay bar

Make sure the distance from the left speaker to the left wall is the same as the right speaker to the right wall. And nothing but air between the speakers!

compression drives by far!

go with titanium if you can, has better breakup characteristics than aluminum... berylium if you have the big bucks though

You are not allowed back in these threads before you buy some lasers to point at those fruit crates of yours.

>Rythmik
I just got this this week.

And its fucking awesome. I don't have much to compare it to though.

But with my wavecrest bookshelf speakers and this sub I will take the Pepsi challenge with anybody who has spent 5x as much

>wavecrest bookshelf speakers
ermm, I just read the noaudiophile review...

Hmmm. Well he is saying they sound to "detailed" and not enjoyable.

I enjoy it it just fine and appreciate the detail.

I also use them for movies though, and it important to me that I have one setup I can use for both

i align all my speakers with a laser level if that counts....

Attached: IMG_20171207_154849.jpg (2080x1560, 1.13M)

If the diffraction he talks about is really a problem you could try felt or some other damping on the top of the speaker?

Attached: s-l1600.jpg (1600x1066, 101K)

I used to recommend SVS but now I'm mixed because they sold out to China and are having plate amplifier problems. I say mixed because they seem to still stand behind their product, even after the failures.

I'd consider PSA for home theater now, which is one of the founding members/letters in SVS that broke off to do his own thing.
powersoundaudio.com/

Rythmik is also good and seems to come recommended by Ascend Acoustics. They also have a better spread of price points (lower entry level price). I also thought this little guy was interesting: rythmikaudio.com/F8.html ... you're better off getting a single 12" probably though.

>Make sure the distance from the left speaker to the left wall is the same as the right speaker to the right wall

Even my meme test aside, I cannot physically do this in my setup.

what can cause a subwoofer to power off? At high volume? Is it underpowered from the amp? I am running it off a Mini - T. But it has it's own power for the woofer of course

what was playing

Attached: lifestyle_audio.jpg (2467x1749, 932K)

I have to agree with you. I find the behaviours of these plebe poseurs quite tiresome. The charade needs to stop. I will notify the authorities after I am done listening to Saint Saens on my Klipsch headphones. This is a photo of me I took just a few seconds ago.

some subwoofers run a circuit that prevents the device from ripping itself apart

Evening Gents - Does anyone here SACD? Been collecting for years, have ~150 albums. Just about every DAC out there claims to be rated at least DSD64 over USB. I'm finding that there's ABSOLUTELY NO REALISTIC WAY to save SACD onto a computer. Can anyone tell me a way that doesn't involve an old PS3 and 5 different programs? Also, as there appears to be no way to stream SACD from a player, can I ask what the point of all this SACD capability is on these DACs? Thx

Attached: SACD.png (1200x806, 83K)

I also need to get me one of those phone cameras that take photo from third person perspective.

But they are too cheap and I can't be caught buying those.
My bank would laugh at me for buying such cheap things. I'll just let my Servant do it out of his own pocket.

forum.psaudio.com/t/ripping-dsd-from-sacd/5053

Could be a thermal protection in the amplifier.

Just torrent the albums in high res from private trackers.

>speakers that close

oof

Thank You user, this is what I'm talking about. I own an Oppo BDP-105D, and it's an option. But! What I'm getting at is that EVERY HI-RES AUDIO PLAYER OUT THERE CLAIMS DSD SUPPORT - where are they getting their files from? I call Bullshit. DSD was always supposed to be uncopyable, it appears it is.
Appreciate it, but I like a physical copy. I'm a dinosaur. Plus, any download will be PCM - DSD is an entirely different animal.

So, I'm wising up to all the Hype - there are NO players that support DSD without having to call Saul and talk to Vinnie about bringing The Boys over for a talk. It's pulling teeth to play these files over a computer. SO WHY DO ALL THE PLAYERS CLAIM SUPPORT?

Attached: Bullshit.jpg (550x442, 17K)

Those don't seem too close to me. I mean it isn't ideal but within reason of the constraints of living in some tiny apartment anyways.

Would hate to be his neighbor!

Would Sony's work?
crutchfield.com/p_158X800/Sony-UBP-X800.html

Just enjoy your physical media and shut the fuck up? You fat fuck. You're killing the business over here. Killing it. Why you gotta disrespect us like that. It's not decent humanity. Want me to tell Big Leo what you're doin'? Uh-huh. Didn't think so.

Attached: master of all audio.jpg (725x800, 95K)

>where are they getting their files from
Dunno. They claim because it's hard to measure if that claim holds water.

I just googled the least tedious solution I could find when I saw your question.
I haven't ripped SACD myself.

Only have one album that claims that it's ripped with SACD quality.

2822400 Hz
~5645 kbps
DSF format.

Attached: Untitled.png (1303x571, 65K)

Appreciate the attempt, but I'm finally realizing that there's NO WAY for me to hear SACD's Fat Deliciousness stored as a file on my computer. Besides the file size being 10 gigs, there's NO way to actually play SACD files natively from either my computer, or a cable hooked directly to an SACD player. So why all the support?
Sorry Guido! I didn't know you was in this post! I'll back up, Man! God, I LOVE how the BDP-105 is capable of transcoding DSD to 24/96! Just LOOOVE me some PCM bitstream rendered from DSD goodness...

Attached: Grrrr.jpg (736x772, 92K)

Good Movie

I thought blu ray was higher bitrate than SACD

Attached: ce4347995e144243eb3fcf41fbb.jpg (469x319, 28K)

I'm so lost why you don't just keep your physical media for when you use a player, and then torrent the duplicate copies stored on your computer.

Does anyone have recs for some $100 bookshelf speakers? I've not got a large budget, so I'm hard on the price range. I've looked at the Edifier 1280T, Micca MB24X, JBL Loft 30, and the Definitive Technology SM45. So far, the Edifier and Micca are my top 2, leaning towards Edifier. Any other options? I'll be using them with my desktop computer (I haven't the money to fork up for an amp yet) so ones that don't require one would be best, if possible.

100% transparent
THE best dac available.

Attached: 1109354979.jpg (362x417, 39K)

You're the best, user. Ripping all two of the SACDs I own now.

Unfortunately that horse lost and has been turned into glue. Elusive Disc has about everything, and they list 72 Blu Ray Audio titles, 38 DVD-A, and 1576 SACD. I know, I know - "just download it, man." Nope. I need a physical copy for preservations sake.

Attached: HV.jpg (2048x1536, 245K)

>100% transparent
>Anything electrical

The point is this: I bought a $2k DAC that claims it supports DSD. I want to hear THIS DAC decode the DSD, not my Oppo thru analog cables. It's like having a Ferarri with no license. *insert Price Is Right looser horn*

Attached: Overprotective.jpg (600x433, 26K)

Pls let us know how it goes, seems like a lot of work!

>analcuck

Attached: ayyyyyyy_0.png (1000x1000, 177K)

Whew, now where's that tab...

Super easy. I'll have to see if there's any difference between DSD and the typical 24/88.2 PS3 rips. I'll try to find some cheap discs for sale but it looks like Black Sabbath's aren't in that category. $130+

Good taste.

Hope it works out well.

Try spek.cc/ and see if your file format is supported.
Just tried the DSF, not supported.
Converting it to FLAC also downgraded the quality. even on FLAC0.

>DAC on my motherboard is a Realtek ALC1150
no wonder it doesn't sound that good on a real system

>ALC1150
Perfect dac, it's the matter how the motherboard manufacturer implemented it with their amp circuitry.
Don't bother asking here, this general is just about spouting shit and mindlessly shilling MDF and plastic shitboxes.
Upgrade your amp/or speakers before you do anything else, money wise anyway.
Placement and room acoustics are really important too.
Look at those latter points first.

cassette fag here
here's the inside of that Toshiba KT-4168

demagnetized and cleaned it, sounds amazing, but this old belt makes it wobbly, hopefully my replacement will be here soon. Battery life is really impressive, it'll sip on an eneloop all day.

After 8.5 years my Klipsch ProMedia 2.1’s ng on me. What should I replace them with for my pc?

none of your business

how do they sound? I have these Hales Revelation III's and they have concrete in the cabinets... super damped

Attached: up.jpg (657x876, 90K)

I worked at a Tech HiFi in 1981/82 and used to use the high end Aiwa walkmn and Sony headphones with all the demo room LP's I'd copy.. sounded awesome.

Attached: aiwa.jpg (789x564, 29K)

Best flat $500 bookshelf speakers?

I bet that sounded really awesome. I've been recording somaFM stations. Something about the limited range of the players and tapes make recordings of lossy media more palatable.

I just bought these badboys. roast me

Attached: dalizensor7_10551.jpg?v=1475182063.jpg (600x600, 16K)

i hope the room they play in is atleast 30m2 large

I'm wondering this too. Had slr305s for some time and while they're great, it would be nice to know what the next obvious upgrade would be for the near future.

>concrete in cabinets
how much do they weight?

Let's just hope it isn't connected to an Onkyo or Pioneer.

lsr310

Why don't they merge /hpg/ into /ag/?
