Why aren't you using Qubes OS?

Why aren't you using Qubes OS?
>complete isolation of every instance

>Hardened kernel

Literally no reason not to use it over your shitty Gentoo rice

The fuck does that even mean? How can an OS support an OS?

qubes-os.org/doc/templates/

You're right OP, it's a nice OS.

So it's basically a VM-oriented OS. Into the trash it goes.

I was running Qubes for a while. Very handy if you do anything with crypto. Nothing more secure than keeping your wallets separated into their own OSes that can't even connect to the internet.

>Hurr Durr isolation is trash
>oh no why did all my files, passwords, crypto and everything get stolen from downloading that one hentaibundle online?
Isolation is the best way to protect your files fag

Why use an OS with support for Windows when you can just use Windows?

Does that mean built in pci and usb passthrough? Will I be able to run my proprietary windows-only phone flashing software on it without bricking my phone? Will win7 run as if it's a bare metal install?

In regards to performance I mean.

Run qubes on the back of Debian
Very comfy

This is why. Bloat.

Is it basically a hyper visor?

Nvm website answers

"By contrast, Qubes uses a “Type 1” or “bare metal” hypervisor calledXen. Instead of running inside an OS, Type 1 hypervisors run directly on the “bare metal” of the hardware. This means that an attacker must be capable of subverting the hypervisor itself in order to compromise the entire system, which is vastly more difficult."

Interesting if it performs anywhere near VMware esxi

good luck trying to do anything even remotely productive

A better way is simply not being a retard. But I guess that's too hard for you. Carry on.

>hardened kernel
If it's not also a libre kernel and allows any sort of proprietary garbage, it's worthless though.

Let us know when it becomes FSF-approved.

Even better, why use QubeOS when you can do more with linux or macOS and just run Windows in a VM? Or vice versa. You can even run QubeOS in a VM, and then run linux in a vm inside your vm on Qubes, then run linux inside that VM. Multi OS support on every system.

It was a nice idea but if you're that anal about
>muh security
then an up-to-date live distro run in a docker container which you wipe afterwards is just as gud and a LOT less hassle.

>why use QubeOS when you can do more with linux
I really hope this is bait.

it still has systemd... it's based on f*dora

though, that is probably the only problem with it.

You think Xen is bloat?
