Object orientation is simple.

First you have a class.

A class is basically a collection of functions and variables, consider it a program on it's own but nothing inside it runs.

Then you have a object.

A object is the class but it's a live version of it that can actually run. You make a object as you make a variable in which you can call functions and set variables ect.

The purpose of this is so programs can be better organized and so functions, variables ect can be private, public, protected ect.
