Is Mint Broke?

I've heard there was some hacking going on with them a few years ago. Would the problem have been fixed by now?

It was their website that was "hacked". Yes, the issue has been fixed.

nigga that's ancient news. Anyway install a better distro like eOS

>elementary os
>based entirely on outdated ubuntu repos
>"better distro"
are you high?

every time i tried mint it was broke, it is like they just make a fork of debian, change the icons, themes and wallpaper and break stuff and call it a distro,

both mint and ubuntu are shit tier garbage,

there are hundreds of distros listed at distrowatch and i bet 95% of them are forks of debian that has been rooted & trojaned for experimental purposes

>depending on a distro that depends on a distro that depends on a distro

Mint is good when it works... If not it's shit

Aren't Mint and Elementary in the exact same boat in this regard? Though Mint Debian Edition used to be a thing, don't know what's the deal now

>based entirely on outdated ubuntu repos

are you high?

too bad mint is actually using up to date repos, unlike elementary os

>2018
>using mint
people still use this garbage?

It's the best distro for people who aren't neets.

>he actuallly believes this

This.
Ubuntu is shit.
Distros like Arch or Gentoo are for autists.
Linux Mint Cinnamon is the smart man's distro.

The website had been modified to give you a different version of mint likely backdoor ed. Its was years ago and only a few days. If you had followed the recommended hash check you could have protected yourself and known immediately.

mint 17.3 was peak mint. since then it has gone downhill.
now that it has fully integrated systemd, i'm moving to devuan.
systemd doesn't work, i don't get why all the linux distrib devs are pushing this bad meme.

>they just make a fork of debian, change the icons, themes and wallpaper and break stuff and call it a distro
This.

>can't figure out babby's first distro
>it must be broken

honestly neither are up to date but Mint is extremely solid as a beginner distro

website hack. it was resolved as soon as it happened.

its not really somewhere you want to stay for long anyway though, it's just a really nice way to seamlessly move from windows.

>a few years ago
no, they left it as broken as a few years ago, as hackable and everything...

you remind me of nagging girlfriends that always bring up that ONE time you fucked up even though it happened years ago. it's a fucking fixation, an obsession. get over it.
