I alwaus thought it looked hideous, thank God they toned it down for W7

Jim Allchin.

first BloatWare windows.. later we got used to it..

xp vista and seven were all made by artists that MS hired for that purpose. after seven they stopped using them and let h1b pajeets design stuff. now you have windows 8 and 10.

vista will be vaporwave aesthetic in 15 years

screencap this

Because they decided to copy Mac OS X.

Because MS hired non-retarded external designers for it. People saw XP as a half baked OSX aqua rip off, so MS really wanted to create something that would look goód

no one saw xp as an aqua rip off

Beautful indeed.

>nobody even talks about wobbly windows anymore

Not really. Both required a DX9 capable graphics card.
Vista just had it software locked to exclude subpar GPUs to not bring down the performance. Freetards should already know better themselves, but using Compiz on anything low end was rather painful on any meaningful workload.

How? That looks nothing like OSX at all.

7 made this look better. For instance there isn't a line on the taskbar slicing one part lighter than the other and it's just one solid color.

Why not sp3

>AT&T
Fucking disgusting

to compensate

Wasn’t catered to iBabbies

It was a product of its time. This was around the time the PS3 came out. A lot of things were starting to adapt a glitzy modern look, usually at the expense of practicality, usability, and in some cases reliability and longevity.

Vista's UI was its biggest flaw. The graphical rendering system behind Aero was completely different to what was in XP and prior. They effectively broke driver compatibility for many systems by introducing the new system. Early Vista video drivers tended to be unreliable and crash. For many chipsets there were no drivers at all, since they didn't meet the requirements. Fortunately the old GUI was retained in the form of basic Aero, which is not present in Windows 8 onwards, and thus neither is the Windows Classic theme.

Some programmes released just a few years before were incompatible with the new GUI, and would force Windows to drop back to the older GUI (basic).

It's no surprise that so many people held onto XP, even after 7 (or Vista Second Edition if you will) was released.

Yes Vista was pretty, but I think Microsoft would have been wiser to develop an OS much closer to XP. Evolution rather than revolution.
