also the heat wasnt as bad acccording to researchs done by the smartest people on earth

humans just didn't live in hot areas back then

Fpbp
All these niggas whining about too hot or too cold need to stop being bitches

No, it was actually even hotter. CO2 is cooling the atmosphere according to research done by Republicans

>AC not enforced by law in Europe
>tfw poorfag and couldn't afford it anyway
>when you live in the north and can just open a window
>when you don't give a shit

ah identity politics

nice

MY FUCKING WIFE

Keeps the Goddamn thermostat at 70F.

It's August and I'm sleeping with the bedspread wrapped around my neck. Goddamn bitches.

here, have some attention

We didn't live in hot areas for the most part. For the pioneers who did, they had to make compromises, and shit took a lot longer to get done.

>T. Nigga with a/c set to 75 and still sleeping with a blankie

is it summer? move north.
is it winter? move south.

well no one had to use computers because thee were none, working outside is fun

it was, the planet is cooling and low co2 levels will kill most life on earth.

>21º C
You're a faggot. That ain't even cold.

They stayed outside most of the time. Probably slept outside too.

>live in midwest burgerland

Bitch please.
Until 2 weeks ago I never used an AC.

Most houses in Germany don't have AC.
I'd guess only 15% have AC.

I don't know, I'm melting.

I know what you mean. My wifes boyfriend insists on keeping it at 60f. Its way to cool for me but i pay the expensive bill because he doesnt like his balls to be sweaty after he does my wife. Whats worse is his black son has taken a liking to my daughter and they have been spending a lot of time alone in her room lately. Problem is im not a rich man and my McDonalds salary isnt enough to pay for their birth control pills. Oh well. Thats life. Could be worse. Could have no AC i guess.

originally southern coast of Europe was considered too cold

you silly americans and your air conditioning

my college dorms have no ac. I do the same thing, but my overheating craptop makes my room even hotter

In hot countries it's not uncommon that businesses shut down mid-day when the heat is at its worst and then re-open at night.

Yes, hot countries never got anything done.
Natives were just sweating their balls off in their huts all day long waiting for colonization to finally kick off so they could get civilization and air conditioning.

a lot longer is not the same as never got anything done you mouth breathing retard

Well, they completed their huts within their lifespan I guess.
And maybe if they were given a few billion years they would indeed build civilization.

Your body can acclimate to other climates pretty easily if you actually expose yourself to it. Some of the years I went hunting a few hours north, it'd be a good bit cooler than down in the cities. A week or two up there confronting that got me totally used to it. When I got back, it almost felt warm even though it was still late fall, almost winter. I was able to walk around in shorts.

The longer daylight hours in the hottest months meant you could do stuff in the morning, take a nap in the shade, and then continue in the evening.

>t. constant 70 degree F land

Sadly no.
We have 100.4°F today.

>Did they just not do any work for 2-3 months out of the year?
yeah pretty much. siesta and all that

The solution was/is to build underground

>depression in 2 years for an entire population

so like in northern countries

By whom? Pscyhotic climate Goreans who hallucinate themselves a couple of thousand years back?

Most people were thinner (on average) back thin, and when you're thinner, you're cooler. So it wasn't as bad to the average person before air conditioning.

AC is a meme, just buy a fan.

It's not cold in February, it IS cold in August. It's a waste of energy most of all, but she'll put it up to 75F all winter long.

Why can't women acclimate?

>it's cold in August
SOVTHRON

>tfw live up north
>no A/C needed because not in jungle

Feels good to be living in the first world.

sometimes if i'm working in the datacenter and it's hot outside and i worked up a sweat unloading the trucks or something i pull the fire alarm and let the halon cool me down

I have no idea man. I'm in Houston, I'd fucking die of heat exhaustion in my house without a/c

I live in Michigan.

Not quite. High end smart inverter ACs in each room paired with ~100% opaque white window curtain/blinds, properly insulated windows/doors, and properly ventilated roofs result in very cheap electricity bills and comfy temps. Most people are too poor to have any of this though.

What is a huge meme are central AC units that cool rooms nobody uses or rooms with the windows open because occupant is a faggot.

Attached: inverter-tehnologija-ts801.jpg (638x479, 79K)

same latitude as southern europe

How much for electricity in bugerland?
In Norway it is ~0.05 usd per kWh so an AC is no problem costwise , but the central hot water heating the city provides is cheaper in the winter.

please kill yourself you fucking retard

I've lived in Santiago, Chile all my life and have never had A/C. Winter isn't that bad, just a little rain. Summer is a bit hot but not humid so it's alright.

>what is gulf stream
>what is atmospheric currents

same but don't even use a fan, just drink lots of water

North of Hokkaido, senpai.

Don't you guys have some kind of massive hydropower installation there?

Burgerland varies a lot depending on where you are. It's as expensive as you'd expect in commiefornia, I pay about 7 US cents/kw-hr. I think in Texas there's some areas where you can sign up for a plan where electricity is more expensive than regular during the day, but free (gratis, zero-cost) at night. Which I think was defined as something like 9pm-6am or the like. It was meant as something to balance demand (since, surprise, everybody runs the AC during the day)

hi Jow Forums. my apartment has no central air. i have a loud landlord supplied window unit in my master bedroom. my closet is huge and has a window. i want to get a "portable" ac unit, put it in the closet, and maybe like duct the cold air over the top of the closet door (theres like a 1 inch gap)

does this sound reasonable or fucking stupid? btw, motivation is to have less noise in the room i spend all my time in

I phrased that ambiguously. I'm the guy in flyover country, I pay seven cents, and the coastal people pay a lot more than that.

ironically ACs significantly contribute to global warming

I have no air conditioner but I have a shitty fan that's always on even when it's cold.
One of the reasons I like my approach more than the aircon other than being a poorfag is that I enjoy having my windows open instead of having to close shit up.

As someone who lived without air conditioning forever. By not being a fucking bitch about a little sweat.

You also have lived without a toilet forever. By shitting in designated street.

Just put on a jacket you pussy. Women are typically more sensitive to cold anyway. Who's wearing the pants?

Same here but i like fan because it kills musquitos also i don't mind but i don't my skin being too dry.

hi stinky

You poor thing. On the rare occasion I go to Santiago to get a flight or something I always wish it was cooler.
The South is much nicer imo.
One other thing, it's pretty interesting how similar the terrain and even the plants look in Santiago. It's pretty close to being the polar opposite of Santiago, it looks just like it.

Norway has like 90% of their power coming from hydro.

My wife has had sex with 10x as many people than I have.

I don't know if that's relevant though.

It was a lot warmer during the Middle Ages and the Bronze Age, but in the hotter parts of the world (Mediterranean, India, Southern China) people just did not work in the middle of the day, they took a break and then continued on later in the evening, when it cooled down. In parts of the world where it got hot but not ridiculously hot, you just toughed it out and kept working through the noon hours. Once electricity came around, fans provided some relief. But other than that you just dealt with it.

t. worked in an older office without air conditioning, most of the time we had fans going. When it got insanely hot, we got buckets of water and sat at our desks with our feet in cold water.

Also this. Think about all the warm countries of the world and how much they have accomplished, and then compare that to somewhere like Germany or Scotland.

Source? Old ACs contributed to the hole in the ozone layer when they finally died, but as far as I know, ACs contribute to the urban heat island effect and NOT global warming.

>tfw wife keep the temps at 70F
>tfw it's an excuse to snuggle with me

Attached: DOgbURvW4AECa8O.jpg (1200x879, 156K)

lol
If it's any hotter than about 75 degrees I have to put on shorts and a t-shirt. I hate the heat. I can't wait for this season to end.

>people just did not work in the middle of the day, they took a break and then continued on later in the evening
did your grandma pass this piece of history on to you?

>as far as I know, ACs contribute to the urban heat island effect and NOT global warming.
well unless your area has nuclear, solar, or wind power, they contribute to global warming by using lots of electricity, which ultimately comes from burning lots of coal or gas. Modern refrigerants don't deplete the ozone layer nearly as much as CFCs did, but they're still greenhouse gases hundreds of times more potent than CO2, which is why they try and recover old refrigerant.

ITT: templets
Middle-east here, temps are 50C on average, that's 122F.
No electricity, just pure manliness to tough out the heat.

You would still need to exhaust the hot air out somewhere.

yeah well we don't care about shitholes so...

have ac at work
i just stay there 10 hours

enjoy your airborne diseases and rhinitis

kek

anthropocentric climate change was still minor back then.

there weren't large population centers in places with retardedly high heat, like deserts.

Tacitus and Livy passed it on to me, actually.

Okay, so the actual air conditioner itself does not contribute to global warming if it working properly, it's only the electricity generating station that does, or if you are some retard who just dumps these things in a landfill.

>AC not enforced by law in Europe
There's a law requiring AC in some places? Pretty interesting. In Finland if the working area temperature exceeds a certain point you get to have more breaks (10 minutes per 60 minutes) and even more if you have to wear long pants (IIRC)

>Middle-east here, temps are 50C on average, that's 122F.
>No electricity, just pure manliness to tough out the heat.
You're forgetting the lack of humidity in the middle-east.

I live in the arid, desert part of the US and it's 104 degrees today, but in the shade it's not even the slightest of problems.

Meanwhile, when I lived in Mississippi, an extremely humid state, 104 degrees would just knock you the fuck out no matter what, because your body loses the ability to cool itself when it's very humid because your sweat can't evaporate effectively.

Go to Taiwan in the summer and then tell me the Middle-east is hot. They don't have air conditioning in most homes there either.

This. I don't have any AC and my heating is fucked, and while the summers are a bitch, you eventually get used to it. Drink water, take multiple showers, put wet stuff around your place and you'll be fine, faggots.

Fans are fucking stupid and just push warm air around.

>implying you'd fare better than the fags in -10°

> Middle East
> Manly

Sandnigga wut?

21C is pretty typical bedroom tempersture where I'm from

70F is uncomfortably warm

Test

you sound poor

>Fans are fucking stupid
Well it keeps me cool, faggot.

>Middle east lack humidity
The gulf area is nothing but humid.

Attached: heat-map-Pal-Eltahir-2015-Fig.1.png (972x654, 806K)

Yes, that's why summer and winter holidays exist.

>take multiple showers
I waste 2 hours from the day just taking showers.

Unlike in the US, our houses aren't made out of cardboard, so they insulate better and keep the temperature a lot more stable.

How hot is it right now?

I totally am for West European standards but it's not like money is a huge deal for me, never had trouble to buy stuff I want to buy, since I rarely want to buy anything in the first place.

When it comes to AC, my experiences in hotels were disappointing. The issue here when it's hot is the humidity, making everything about 15° pure cancer for me. Making the air colder doesn't change much.

>waste
See it as "mind recovery time". Brains need breaks from work, so it's really a win-win.
