ALL OF IT

tackling the question seriously... probably more than you can consume or view in your spare time would be a reasonable quantity.
or maybe that you expect to consume once you retire and have all the free time in the world

Why would you want to be a data hoarder?

Why do the boxes of my hard drives say not to stack them?

48.7331836TB

I also wonder if other data hoarders feel a tingling sensation, or a little chill down their spines whenever they're in the hard drives section of a computer store.
or when they see hard disks in general.

is this a fetish

It is if you want it to be user.

This.
Hoarding (of any kind) isn't exactly a fetish, but it's definitely a mental disorder.

I've hoarded 1TB worth of exposed user data from any website i've come across and have set up and entire stalking network not unlike the NSA's to know what porn you watch.

Seriously? I'm currently using 2.6 TB and don't feel like a hoarder. I have a 1 TB ssd with games and miscellaneous bullshit + a 2 TB hdd for backups.

My definition of a hoarder is 10+ TB. Anyone with just a single mechanical drive is perfectly normal.

I'd say if you have a HDD array of 6+ 4TB+ drives you are either a hoarder or "collector". Personally I just like archiving shit.

>array of 6+ 4TB+ drives
>like archiving shit
These are textbook symptoms of being a data hoarder. You crossed the threshold long before you bought your 6th drive.

>implying I only have 6x4TB and not redundant 8x8TB
I actually don't hoard shit but legitimately archive it. But yeah the difference is near null anyways.

100TB is a reasonable cutoff I think.

>redundant 8x8TB
What raid configuration are you using? 5? 6? 10? Something weird?

This looks like a time bomb. How often do you deal with drive failures?

Actually no RAID at all. I got 16 Drives (don't ask got them very cheap), 8 "main" drives that I use to archive but they aren't nearly full at all so the other 8 I got set up as 2x4 that mirror the main drives.

Google has petabytes of data. they're hoarders.

Why don't they archive cool things instead of mt personal details?

no I mean it's just envy for those hard disks
the potential of filling them up

personal details are cool things
it can earn you money and influence

The box means when they're running. If you stack them while they're running there's a possibility that they'll get shock damage from all of the rattling around they'll do. On the other hand, a desk or table or the inside of your PC case isn't going to be damaged by absorbing that.

You do realize there is literally a 12Tb seagate ironwolf hdd right?

>seagate
Why bother?

>the potential of filling them up
It sounds like a fetish.

L-lewd

not just hdds; any kind of hardware gets my dick hard

no homo

idk i have 12TB with double backups which i assume is a reasonable figure

All of it. all the data. i am the interweb

8 Terabytes

Nice to see this screencap already getting reposted.
