$249 is still a massive amount here
That's roughly 7200 in my country's currency. Which is VERY affordable. Hell, it's 4000 cheaper than my i7 2600K which I bought in full retail box package back in 2011 when it barely just came out. And that was a 4 core/8 thread 32nm CPU. Now I can get 12 cores & 24 threads on 14nm gen1 HEDT Zen for 4000 less. Meanwhile, 1950X was already cut from 1000$ to 650$, and it looks like it's going to have yet another massive price cut soon. This is absolute INSANITY.
>amd getting this desperate to offload trash
Just wait till 10nm drops brainlet.

intlel on full damage control lmao
That's still less than a 8700k or a 2700x. What the fuck.
Ayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Jesus. At this rate I might go TR4 for my next build.
>offload trash
Oh, rrrrrrrrrrright:
Next year is 7nm. The biggest leap in cpu tech from 14nm standard to 7nm
>Next year is 7nm
Actually end of THIS year.
End of this year is only if you are a mobile phone manufacturer or if you are one of AMD or one of their best customers which gives you sampling access to Rome chips.
Lol who gives a fuck about (((10nm))). AMD is going to be on 7nm next year, brainlet.
Google it up, imbecile. 7nm EPYC is coming out this winter, since AMD made additional order to TSMC. Yes, that's right, NEXT-YEAR consumer and enthusiast Zen 2 CPUs are coming out from GloFo, but Zen 2 EPYC is coming out THIS year and it's done by TSMC.
First 7nm Zen 2 CPUs are out THIS year, during winter. FFS.
So what? It's typical computer bullshit. 6 months from now they'll release some new cpu that is faster. Fanboys will buy all new hardware and start sperging about how amazing that is. Just becuase "duur my compooder fastest !11"
Go back to /b/. normieshit.
>I hate computars! They so difficult!

>Finally, I'm very pleased with our execution against our long-term roadmap. We received first silicon of our next-generation 7-nanometer EPYC processor with Zen 2, codename Rome, in the second quarter, and the silicon quality and bring up has gone very well. I am happy to report that we recently started sampling Rome to select partners for early validation, and we are on track to launch in 2019
>Yes, sure. So a couple of different questions here, Matt. On the EPYC, your question is Naples versus Rome and how we manage that. Look, our focus from sales and go-to-market standpoint right now is on Naples. First generation EPYC, we have a lot of platforms in market, over 50 platforms in market. There are a lot of customers that have systems in their labs going through various stages of qualification, and we're very focused on supporting that and ensuring that we see that ramp into the second half of the year. Rome is really a 2019 story. I think the good part about it is I expect that customers perhaps took a little bit longer in their initial qualification and sort of work around Naples, and our hope is that, as we go into Rome, you'll see those qualification timelines tighten up a little bit. But no question that for 2018, it's a Naples story, and there's a lot of customer interest around Rome, and we will manage that.
Straight from the horse's mouth and in front of investors just shy of over a week ago.
this versus 2700x, which one will win in gay men?
>More than 2x the price outside US
in .nl it's 330merkeldinars
More than x2 will still be lower than it's original MSRP, you dumb fuck. Waaay lower, actually. Because 1950X was officially cut to 650$ for a while now.
So how come amd and some taiwanese people figured out 7nm but fucking intel which can blow both the others out the water in r&d investment and are still struggling with 10nm?
Reminder all these cost AMD only about 40 dollars per chip. Intel is going to get fucked again.
They both win, but with THREADRIPPER you casn also do some serious work at the same time while you're Jow Forumsoyming.
>AMD and some Taiwanese people figured out 7nm
It wasn't AMD in particular. It was Jew Killer. He laid the foundation for at least 3 full generations of Zen to come (that's all the way up to late 2024 at the very least).
Because for more than a decade it was essentially the same chip, only smaller + more refined + new gimmicky features. Otherwise spectre and meltdown wouldn't affect Intel CPUs that are more than a decade old.
>It was Jew Killer.
And Clarke, who got promoted. Clarke's the engineer. Jim did the research. Which is why Intel will be exciting again come 2021 when Jim comes out with results for Intel. Don't forget they hired him.
Intel 10 nm is worse than their 14nm+++++++++. Nothing can compete with this.
WTF I LOVE AMD NOW
You're stupid.
Clark did physical work. Jew Killer had brains and ideas. Without idea, there can be no physical manifestation. So, no, it was basically only JK's triumph. You can be super-fucking great engineer, but if you can't come up in your mind/head how everything should look like, nothing can be done right. Jew Killer is the Nicola Tesla of our time.
>yfw Zen2 is confirmed for at least 12 cores at $250 next year

After THIS? Don't make me laugh. They're fucking done for.
You're a slowpoke. huh. Everyone started LOVING AMD since late 2016.
Don't underestimate Jim Keller. They would have to kill babies over at Intel for him to quit halfway.
7nm is IBM tech though
Keller can't unfuck the fabs
Keller can't make the jew spend more
He is the shitwrecker, but we would need to wait at least 4 years to his fruits of labor. By then, AMD would probably make an even smaller Zen Zeppelin die replacement, getting infinite yields.
You simply don't get it, huh?
I'll spell it out to you, then: Jew Killer and Raja Koduri "leaving to/getting bribed by Inturd" is an insider job, literal spies infiltrated for diversion. Notice how Intel started doing massive mistakes and fucking up left and right almost immediately (roughly a couple weeks later) after Raja "joined" (((them))). It's ALL according to keikaku. Keller might be SLIGHTLY interested in ACTUALLY working, but Raja was a 100% planted duck.
>amd will buy up intel's cut wafers because they can fit zen dies on the leftover area
Look at this dude...
Don't give user any more (You)s desu. 10nm is here already in a chink laptop far, far away. Surely we'll have 10nm on the desktop by 2019. 2020 is definitely a good year to start sending out those 10nm chips. In fact 2021 10nm will surely beat AMD in all fronts.
And their so called """10nm""" is actually 12nm.
Same. It's 1/3 the average monthly paycheck here.
Fuck I should have waited.
At least my 1700X draws less power.
Intel hired tge poo fuckup?
Way to destroy them from the inside
What?
You're too late, I guess. The price drop was momentary, it seems. This can repeat very soon, though.
It got cut because Amazon procurement cut a retail agreement with AMD over it. A deal which likely involves buying stock of the new CPU. This is more Amazon cut throat leveraging than anything willingly done by AMD.
Sale's over mate. I missed it too.
Pretty good rundown.
In my region, no such thing as price cuts, unless the components in question is near-obsolete.
Is a 1920x strong enough to encode 4K60fps at around 40000 bitrate? No gaming involved, just streaming 4K60fps to youtube live.
>Is a 1920x strong enough to encode 4K60fps at around 40000 bitrate?
Even 8 core 1900X is already enough to easily pull that off.
AMD can have 7nm they still won't be able to deliver faster single core speeds per dollar.
Here's more from obviously the same guy.

Not him but nice argument, fucker. Meanwhile AMD cannibalizes their own lineup.
>Intel now is the one who will be playing catch up.
I might be a 26 year old who never had a girlfriend but I am so happy that I was born in this timeline
WTF are they even selling a single one?
>12 cores now cheaper than a usable SSD
>12 cores now cheaper than 16gb ram
Ryan Shrout and JayZ would clearly buy a couple.
>12 cores now cheaper than a typical mid-tier Full Tower PC case
>Shame on them for not jewing every red cent out of everyone as hard as intel with it's artificially inflated prices.
>implying they BUY anything...
>implying companies don't give them for free so they can shill
Fucking juicy. By the way, Intel lied to Apple about their realistic roadmap. Apple firstly don't like to backtrack on their plans and they take a very long time to finalize things with design and manufacturing. They never wanted to make laptops that can't dissipate heat as well as they should.
This shit is why Intel's closest partner historically and a BIG contract for them will soon end the relationship. Apple is already offloading tasks to the custom T2 chip, something no one else has done yet. This chip handles things like webcams and microphones, hardware encryption and the TouchBar. Apple have had enough of Intel and general reliance on other people making the heart of their computers. I hope they switch to AMD before their own chips though for a few more years of compatibility. Luckily Thunderbolt 3 is an open standard, as of around a year ago so AMD can implement it.
Or the store is dumb
>Octacosa-core
>tfw looked for GPUs on the local version of ebay

this is what you get when going full protectionism
never go full protectionism
>Why doesn't Ferrari sell their cars at the same prices as FIAT?
>It's always other people's fault!
>It's always other people's fault!
AMD only sets the MSRP and the price they sell to the stores. You'd realize this if you weren't retarded.
>Intrash
>Ferrari
Yep, overadvertised, overhyped, overpriced, and underwhelming garbage alright.
*Maserati Bora owner*
Holy fuck. That's the equivalent of 9/11 in the core war.
>thread about AMD
>a company that got btfo for ~7 years by its competition bounced back and is now dominating over them
Why do you doubt that Intel won't be able to come back? AMD has done the same with less ressources.
Yeah, I'd say that it's almost a certainty that Apple drops Intel soon.
They changed architectures entirely the last time this happened, when IBM failed to deliver.
And you can't blame them, as Intel is rapidly becoming a toxic brand.
>meltdown bug

I remember seeing this posted here years ago, and it seems to have been entirely truthful: danluu.com
Intel has gotten really fucking sloppy as of late. Just pushing untested buggy garbage onto the consumer.
Damn. How are the normal ryzens tho? Should I upgrade from my athlon 860K?
>upgrade from my Athlon 860K
Just wait for Zen 2 consumer/enthusiast at the beginning of 2019 and upgrade from scratch immediately as they come out.
Waar? Tweakers has €450 as lowest price
>when you already nutted many times over and is completely dry and sensitive, but she still keeps sucking vigorously and strongly
A mobile phone is an upgrade from that. If you need power you can grab a 2700x now.
>2700X
More expensive than 1920X, tho?
$250 CPU that needs a ~$300 board.
>Meanwhile, at Inturd
>the comments section on that page
wtf
Yeah, but at least their boards are cheaper
>Yeah uhh MSRP
Ok
Which is why Intel is still faster and yeah nice car you got in Forza 7 lmao
>threadripper is trash!
intel on full damage control.
WCCF is a Jow Forums of hardware/technology news outlets/sources.
THREADRIPPER is a different chipset and socket. It's LGA, even. You pay not only for more features/lanes and etc., but also for easier and more secure installation.

No idea what you are trying to say with that.
Intrash is a dinosaur. It has no chance of survival. The ice age is coming. AMD is a mammal.
Reminder that AMD's EPYC is a potshot at Intel's failed Itanium Epic. The engineers weren't just memeing bastards, they voted to hit Intel right where it hurts.
But I was asking you why you think it is impossible for Intel to bounce back? AMD did the same thing.
>why you think it is impossible for Intel to bounce back?
Do you see dinosaurs walking the Earth right now? Thought so.
