>it has become an expectation that we're being watched
>many people I've talked to have mentioned that they're careful about what they type into search engines
>because they know it's being recorded
>and that limits the boundaries of their intellectual exploration
what did he mean by this?
It has become an expectation that we're being watched

seems pretty straight forward to me
seems pretty straight forward to me too
what can't people search for that limits their intellectual exploration?
he didn't give any examples
>search for something
>google catalogs it
>they use this to create a profile of you
Use Tor for searching shit on jewgle user
He means "that's where their curiosity to learn more about the subject ends"
Retard
cant explore something they may perceive as wrongthink. like how many genders, tianamen square massacre, etc
he means people are pussies
It means he's more cucked than a Swede
this just confirms my suspicions about him
>Logga in
Reminds me of after the Boston marathon bombings, when people were searching for pressure cookers online and ended up getting visited by the FBI.
He's always been Jow Forums's guy.

This.
Although I think the OP was trying to start a discussion on the topic of the public's expectations of privacy and surveillance, though he maybe could have worded it less awkwardly.
I have a friend who was researching thermonuclear weapons simply out of intellectual curiosity, and the FBI showed up at his door.
I tried googling shit on Tor only to find that Google blocks Tor nodes, due to the search engine interpreting the massive traffic load from exit nodes as a DDoS or something like that. Though that was a long time ago and they may have fixed it since then.
Edward is a hero and will always be a hero, the next great battle humanity will face is the rapid forced centralization of government, see the EU and the rapid successions of data scandals.
he's a useless piece of shit, probably a limited hangout operation from the beginning
Dolphin pussy
>googling
Please avoid using the term “google” as a verb, meaning to search for something on the internet. “Google” is just the name of one particular search engine among others. We suggest to use the term “search the web” or (in some contexts) just “search”. Try to use a search engine that respects your privacy; for instance, DuckDuckGo claims not to track its users. (There is no way for outsiders to verify claims of that kind.)
DDG and Qwant allow Tor users
Then get a good VPN
and have your VPN server black listed by everybody. Like Jow Forums does, for instance.
fpbp
how? I actually don’t understand how this user’s post relates to Ed Snowden at all
Did he play the thermonuclear warfare game with the computer? Should have played chess instead.
if you really think that’s why you can’t use google on Tor you have a lot to learn about this day and age we live in friend
shill
sweet, now I want see some trap shit
moot actually talked about this a number of times as being one of the reasons ``anonymous'' sites like 4chins are important. Then again moot said a lot of things.
tfw probably on a list for googling loli
Why.
Why do you, dumb attention whoring anime pedo faggot, exist?
This site isn't anonymous
This site requires google to post.
>``anonymous''
So if I input this, followed by "where do I buy a gun?" they will record it?
What happens if I just fill the botnet with trash incorrect info?
He meant we're all living inside a panopticon, and are susceptible to parallel construction - guilty for anything imaginable past or future. You will not having anything to fear because you will never have anything to hide, as you will never break outside the boundaries of what you have been programmed to think. Step out of line and the machine will adjust your behaviour or annihilate you.
The machines won. Humanity committed suicide.
More info please. Did they just come over to yer friend and ask oi you cheeky fucky wucky waddaya needin them thermo nukie dookies for?
Also: "googling" sounds very retarded in other languages than engrish.
Whenever I wanna Google something that I'd really prefer Google not to associate with the online profile they are building of me I simply fire up my VPN with the highest level of encryption possible and then fire up a new instance of my browser with private browsing set and then I simply Google it.
At best case it's a great way to get the cops to show up on your doorstep to take you down to the station for an interview.
Worst case they arrest you, think your threat is credible, and charge you with whatever is applicable in that scenario. As a bonus your face gets plastered all over the news and you will forever be known as that guy that was planning to shoot up Google HQ. You now have a felony on your record and you'll never be able to get a job because no employer is gonna risk taking you on as they'll just figure if you get pissed off you just snap and kill everyone.
>What happens if I just fill the botnet with trash incorrect info?
You can't, practically speaking. There is far more information pouring into Google every second than you could possibly generate on your own. What you put on Google won't even put a dent in how the machine learning algorithms do their thing. Even with a relatively large botnet under your control it's doubtful you could make a significant impact.
did he actually accomplish anything aside from being exiled to Russia and having to live in fear of the CIA for his entire life?
America is fucked. If the fact that the botnet is now confirmed and a well-known fact isn't enough to stir up a revolution, then no one will.
Americans are slaves, slaves to their foreign rulers.
Remember they have no way to know who is behind those searches.
We are shirtless at house and God knows what others might be looking for.
He used it as a term for searching something on the internet using Google.
My name is John Connor but you'll never know, as my name, John Connor, is not important.
I come from the future where machines are evil and so buggy that they accidently dropped me back in time. So I got in a cab but when I told the driver "Where to ?" "To the future." I was just thrown out of the cab which was rude, man. Also in the future we all have short attention spans, name's John Connor btw.
I think I can make this trip a mission - give me all your pokemon... and your bandwidth. I need to waste my time until the future is now while this country goes down the drain. Change the future ? That's impossible. You'd have to time travel for that and that's impossible. Name's John Connor btw.
t. Google shill
The perfect rebuttal to the people that say "I have nothing to hide".
Most people simply don't care about surveillance at all because they are all fucking stupid and fell for the
>nothing to hide
meme as well as
>but the dark net hackkaz, user
and don't forget classics like
>the will voluntarily shut it off when they see the porn I watch
But honestly how do you escape the botnet?
All the surveillance facebook like buttons. They are not there so you can click on them, they are there so they can log your activity. Google even manages to link various gmail account to the same person. Just try to log in a gmail account with a new device. Even though you know the password jewgle won't let you in because "your device is unknown" and then they ask for your phone number to "validate your identity". I really don't wanna know how much recaptcha is spying on my 4chin posts. What do? Use photonmail? Use duckduck? How long will this gonna work until those are contaminated too? The botnet will further expand since not enough people care about it since it's "for our safety". You can't even use vpn or tor(probably nsa anyway) because most sites just accuse you of being a bot and suffocate you with captcha.
...or they simply don't care while they aren't affected negatively by it. So now everyone can be picked off one by one at will just like a dumb animal. Just avoid triggering the herd into a stampede.
>Interested in buying a pressure cooker
>Going on holiday soon so need to buy a backpack
>Gotta buy nails to fix the fence
>I wonder how fertilizer is made
This combination of searches will sent you to Guantanamo. I know that since I'm posting from there
Also have your ISP start charging you for data overages since you share all the VPN traffic + whatever you're also doing through the VPN.
search "google is always listening" on youtube
why?
search this in bing and click on images
index of upload converting img tag in page url
Sounds okay in Russian.
why is someone as high profile as snowden supporting this woman for writing a generic tech privacy articles
her academic background is editor of the Harvard Journal of Law & Gender
Snowden's being painfully on-point as usual. Guess the old internet is never coming back...
Not him, but shut the fuck up retard
The point of a limited hangout is that it's limited. Snowden's leaks were anything but limited.
>search for furry loli guro porn and other random shit
>google thinks I'm into it when I'm actually not
>their profile of me is highly inaccurate and doesn't match the real life me at all
>mfw
Its literally been accepted by webster as a verb
Please DONT avoid ending it all
I think rms himself is fine with the usage described in ur pic
Literally nothing new was leaked, except for specifics about program names and their extent
Everything sounds retarded in languages other than American.
This isn't the point. You shouldn't assume everyone is and should be using google.
OH, STEP AWAY EVERYONE
THE SPECIAL ONE RACE IN THIS ITT THREAD
WHAT THE FUCK
Big Brother has a chilling effect on free speach and expression because people are fearful of their governments.
Its a pretty easy and accurate assumption though. For instance, if someone gave you the chance at winning $100 if you guess which search engine some random person on the street primarily used, are you under any circumstances ever going to say anything other than google?
I would recommend everyone default to tor for general browsing. If you need to login to a service, then use your normal browser and close it after you’re done. That’s what I do.
Damn, wish I hadn't just done that
>not using askjeeves
shiggy diggy, user
>use this NSA honeypot for your normal browsing
no thanks applebum
none of that it was a lie I made it up
He's a fucking russian agent. Of course you shouldn't listen to him.
Validate this claim
we're talking about Snowden, not Trump
nice
what was it
MW are niggers. They also added "literally" meaning not literally but used as emphasis and "assault rifle" meaning semi auto variant of an actual assault rifle. They contribute to, and provide some with a justification for, the bastardization of language that plagues this rotten world. The French did the right thing when they locked their language down, anyone speaking English in 50 years will probably be babbling happily to himself while whoever hears him is thinking about something entirely different described by the exact same sentence.
Looking up dolphin pussy will get you added to the democratic party's mailing list. They assume you're a degenerate progressive just because you want a romantic relationship with a dolphin.
I still get the fucking weekly newsletter. Goes right to spam but it pisses me off. I'm never using a search engine without tor again.
Why can't I go back to 2005 internet when my digital experience wasn't engineered to be exploited by the botnet. I DONT LIKE BEING WATCHED AND I HATE SOCIAL MEDIA
You can. We all can. We'll all go and leave the normalfags behind to rot together in this Hell they've created. Soon, once our suffering is too great to bear and desperation brings everyone like us together, you'll see. $
I'm glad i'm not the only person that does this.
>Snowden
>literally housed in a Russian embassy
>not a Russian agent
He's spreading lies that make our internet unsecure.
When you know that you are being watched you do not act as your true self. This applies to things outside of technology and the internet, as well. But, in regards to technology, you are more likely to stick to traditional websites perceived as safe or standard when you know that deviating from the path can lead to negative outcomes. When we know we are watched we focus on how to stay in line, not what we want to see. It is limiting and does not allow people to be their true selves. I think this is also an issue with the death of mainstream anonymity with social media websites. When you have your name attached to your activity it makes you much more conscious of what you are doing.
I.died.in.the.blast.gif
Thank you user, I feel a bit calm now. Thinking about it all makes me sick
Snowden is modern hero.
If you think he is traitor you're just a retard.
Hero and traitor and not mutually exclusive. He betrayed the bad guys.
Bad guys betrayed the 4th. So, hero.
Like chemistry major might not search "how to build a bomb" despite not wanting to ever build one. Simply because he or she is curious of what chemical reactions happen. Because they know their search are being watched and they don't want some dumbass equivalent to the TSA to decide to raid their house.
en.wikipedia.org
I hear you user. Have you ever wondered why there is that warning label on certain chemicals, I forget what it says... Something like "blah blah federal felony if not used for its intended purpose..." For anyone with half a brain this basically says "hey, you should see what you can do with this chemical".
On a side note, you can found out how to do this shit on tor/i2p anyways.
Frankly any chemistry major who can't name three easy bake binary explosives in ten seconds should consider clown college instead.
It's retarded that there isn't yet an official institution to regulate the English Language.
He's a cuck who is afraid some CIA nigger will read his loli search requests and make fun of him.
Be careful what you wish for. Look at our current governement and education system, I don't see anyone qualified to run such an institute.
