What forum software can you recommend, Jow Forums? I need to set up a discussion platform for a small team and our users. I'd prefer a forum or a message board with user registration to real-time chat.
Forum software
github.com
This doesn't look as good as Kareha. It's a bad fit because most participants will want easy-to-recognize identities (normal users are unfamiliar with tripcodes) and email notifications when they get a reply.
discourse.org
might be overkill
You should check out discord.gg
Tumblr can do all of this.
No, thanks.
Flarum
Check this one out
board.asm32.info
Impressive. Really fast, though slower than forum.dlang.org
>latest release is v0.1.0-beta.7.1
How ready is it?
fken hell some people like to suffer
>making quality software with the programming language of the gods
>"""suffer"""
phpbb is nice
>x86 assembly
>programming language of the gods
The devs better have an ARM migration plan.
all you need is lynx chan
The nicest forum software is proprietary.
Jow Forums would be my top pick

PHPBB MODIFIED BY PRZEMO
discourse is a bit bloated, but it's well supported, foss.
It is also kind of hard to integrate with an existing users database (there are guides to do so, but is not has easy as it probably should).
Do they still maintain FluxBB?
>we will continue to support the latest version, at least with security fixes.
for now
>A[uti]smBB
>abandon fluxbb
>make discourse2.0
for what purpose
I've been using SMF since 2009.
simple machines
XMB2 if you don't mind no support
>hasn't been hacked since 2011
>still up to date because there isn't security options to add because no one knows of it
>changed hands so much no one wants to work on it anymore
>predates Simple Machines
xmbforum2.com
sounds like security through obscurity
