The absolute state of Windows

Did you know that you need admin rights to make a symbolic link in windows? Doesn't even matter if its a link to a folder on your own desktop.

Found your problem, user.

Pff.
At least it doesn't ask you to enter ROOT password for every fucking button press,

I didn't even know that windows 7 had sym links. That's a unix thing.

Symbolic links result to a mess.
Kudos to Microsuck for discouraging them.

Disabling UAC is one of the most stupid things you can do in Windows.
Every program would be able so run with admin privileges wether you like it or not.

>in case you don't get it: malware, trojans, viruses will be able to do this, too

>reverting windows 10 to windows xp security

how can i get a virus if i don't download one?

>i want to be cucked by my os. the post(s)

>how can i get a virus if i don't download one?
Conversely, how do you know you did not download a virus?

>implying shitty UAC can block virus from executing
what a fuckin retarded cuck are you?

The question I'd ask here is does anyone actually need this?
In my 17 years user experience I never had to make a a symbolic link. I know that can possibly start a shitstorm right here, but hell Idk what on earth a symbolic link is.
All I can say for now is any guide to solving a nontrivial problem in *nix I ever seen includes sudo.

but it can though?

>caring about symbolic links
>using symbolic links

what are those?

>implying that UAC is useful to anyone but grandmas and computer illiterates
>implying that having full root access 24/7 is a bad thing for powerusers
>implying that older Win32 API software can run properly with UAC enabled

dumb frogposter

i went a long time without them as well
it's the kind of thing you didn't know was a solution to a problem you worked around because you didn't know they existed
simply put, they're a filesystem-level shortcut. filesystem-level in the sense that they're transparent to applications, they work as if they are the file they're linked to, unlike shortcuts in windows, which are an explorer feature, so not everything treats them like the linked file

What OS does this?

you can even mount media to folders if "drive letters" is not your thing

ntfs supports a bunch of things that windows itself doesn't or only kinda does

I know it's a bit /v/ but they're great for syncing save files to the cloud for games that don't have that built in. Just link the save folder of whatever game you want to a onedrive folder

>I turn on my computer at a routine time every week for the last 3 years
>I use the same 4 programs all day every day
>I have 4 Edge tabs showing the same 4 websites
why the FUCK would i want EAC showing me bullshit protection every single fucking day

For example Windows and most applications by now support huge filenames, but Explorer won't let you rename them.

Sometimes they are useful, it should be up to the user to utilize them or not.

I never download anything.

>why do I need a condom if I've never gotten an STD?
>why do I need a seatbelt if I don't get into accidents?
>why do I need a VPN if I've never gotten in trouble?
>why do I need health insurance or public healthcare if I've never been to a hospital?
>why do I need to backup my data if it's all here?

>stds
Just don't have sex.

>disabling registry isolation
Nope, just no. You might as well install malware yourself.

>i'm fucking the same girl for 3 years, she hasn't cucked me
>i'm walking down a single block in a gated community
>i'm not BLACK; i'm sorry if you are
>oh shit i gotta watch out for those mosquitoes
>i actually make backups weekly so fuck that logical point

Ah, the "parents ask for tech support" approach.

Why not just TempleOS it up and run everything in ring-0 if you're such a master of computing?

Just don't be retards and don't execute random 10 kb .exe files that you download from superwarezkeygenscracks.tk or other shitty pajeet scamming sites and you will be fine with UAC disabled. Also, use uBlock Origin with additional custom filter lists.

my trading programs don't work under a shit os

>>i'm fucking the same girl for 3 years, she hasn't cucked me
yet
>>i'm walking down a single block in a gated community
ok lard have fun being 600lbs
>>i'm not BLACK; i'm sorry if you are
actually legitimate point

I read about them just now and I wish I knew about them earlier.
