"Support" is just fear-mongering user. Yes, you won't have a computer that is secure from hackers, that could monitor you at any time. But Windows 10 secures it by letting your computer be monitored by Microsoft.

Yeah, because it uses a utility I wrote a few years back to access the WinSxS store. But I took a shortcut with one of the compression algorithms, and just threw it at Windows to decompress. Unfortunately, that compression API was introduced in Windows 8.

You literally can not. I've spent last two weeks trying different builds in a VM and every single one has some sort a bug or glitch of varying degrees of annoyance. For example 2016 LTSB that's shilled so much can't stop aligning text in file names to the left.
Stick with 7 or 8.1 unless you absolutely have to install 10 for some reason.

There are more issues, such as 4GB VRAM limit in DX9, issues with large memory pages, 32-bit float audio clipping after 20 seconds pause/resume, GPUgoing in P0 whenever interacting with the immersive shell (start menu, settings), start menu search is broken, visual issues when moving windows with the option to show windows contents while moving disabled, etc. I could go on like this for a while, I used it for about 6 months. The folder attributes was the last straw.
