My government is actively trying to insert backdoors into encrypted messaging applications and trying to claim they're not backdoors.

These new laws can even force a tech company to give the government its source code.

So even though this is only Australia, a backdoor would potentially screw everyone globally who uses it.

Use open source and properly audited encryption library. Source code is out there. They can't do jack shit

getting sick of this shit

First time hearing about this.
We already have metadata retention.
Now this huh?
Cuckstrakia can only get ever more cucked.

All downhill from (((port arthur)))

stop doing bad stuff with your technology

how is such a backdoor supposed to work? One key for all? What happens if that key gets leaked?

>side gate
Lmao. If things keep going like this, the coming Chinese takeover will be a good thing for personal freedoms

more of an alternative entrance or a secondary ingress really

The current Aust govt are a bunch of blatantly corrupt criminals.

That shield thing looks really fucking cheap

>country founded by criminals is run by criminals
shock twist

>So even though this is only bullshit speculation,
Fixed.

>throw all brownies in the sea
>no more need for crime prevention

WE MUST RISE UP AGAINST CORPORATE GOVERNMENT VIOLENTLY.

>So even though this is only Australia, a backdoor would potentially screw everyone globally who uses it.
just dont release in australia then

Except Australia is still run by Brits. They come here and get into our councils, parliament, etc.

thats what you get for infiltrating our pubs m8

What do you have to hide? I bet you're from Melbourne you poof!

Unironically this.

>terrorists, paedophiles, drug smugglers
like clockwork

Yep, those are the usual buzzwords. As if a negative IQ sandnigger terrorist or drug dealer can even spell encryption, let alone use it

> Says criminals are getting away with their crimes.
> Biggest criminals are in the government.
> Governments want cryptographic backdoors, but also want to crack down on whistleblowers so they can get away with their own crimes.

Can anyone say "hypocrisy"?

The register has a good break down
theregister.co.uk/2018/08/14/oz_encryption_backdoor/

Basically they can get an order to ask you to "voluntarily" modify your code to recover what they want. If that doesn't work they can require changes or risk $10m fines. And finally they can get another order which if not complied with people start going to jail.

So if the Farok FBI vs Apple case occurred in Australia they would have made Apple comply or execs would be jailed.

Remember Oz courts can require you to disclose a password or they can throw you in jail for 6 months. Which they can continue to repeat indefinately until you comply.

That's why you should get a cheap iphone 6s user

Why so Australia can invent a "terrorist" even and co-opt Apple into breaking their own software.
And then they can hand the broken software over to their five eyes friend the US?

Wickr is the standard mode of contact for Australian drug dealers

Considering the fact that loli is illegal in australia and images of women that are flat chested even if over 18 is considered child porn, buzzwords like pedo are very easy to manipulate.

And cabinet members

>tfw you lived long enough to see deus ex become a reality

This. If your message can be represented by ones and zeroes you have the tools to hide the contents from state actors over any channel at least until they break out the rubber hoses.

Ausfailia was always an open sky prison, why are you surprised?

what if you forgot the password? they can't lock you up forever

>

What if there is no password and they just pulled up a corrupted file with some recovery tool.

>Terrorists
>Paedophiles
>The crims

These same fucking buzzwords again and again used for invasion of privacy.

Glad I left that cuck country behind.

How long till Canada does this.

I hate this new hellworld.
