Tfw you fell for the curved monitor meme

>tfw you fell for the curved monitor meme

Seriously what the fuck is this shit. How can any human find this absolute abomination comfortable for doing anything on a computer screen?

I've been using this curved monitor for a while and I already hate it with a passion. Does one get used to it (I've already had it for two days though) or should I just send it back to Amazon and be done with it?

send it back, they wind up distorting all your UI's in frustrating ways.
remember that these monitors were designed by chink insect-people who ironically have very little experience in looking at computer screens. Most of these chinks eyes are really meant for chasing bugs, roaches around to put in their soup.

Oh and by the way, let me shit on matte displays as well. The chromatic quality of matte displays is absolute shit. My 8 years old glossy HP IPS monitor with something like 70% RGB coverage has way deeper blacks and superior image quality than this brand new 200€ VA panel with 130% coverage.

How the fuck is this possible? I even asked family members to tell me which one looked better on a side by side and the older HP monitor won every test, only small difference is that the HP has less deep reds, but has better everything else.

The curve on my 35 inch ultrawide is useful because it's so big, I think curves are only worth it in large ultrawides.

why would you buy one in the first place? everyone with half a brain knows that curved on a 27" is a meme.
The differences between glossy and matte are also nothing new, both have their pros and cons.
You should keep that thing to remind yourself what an idiot you are for buying tech that you had no knowledge about beforehand

I got my monitor because review sites said it provides the best visual quality for the price range (< 300€). Now I own a curved 144Hz gaming monitor. Both the high refresh rate and the curve are gimmicks. I don't get anything from them, but they aren't bothering me either. After a day I stopped noticing how it's a curved monitor.

had a nice giggle reading this
I'm glad the CHG70 has all sorts of dissuasive issues, because those specs are pretty attractive for a curved monitor

21:9 flat Master race

I checked these out in person at the local store and I agree OP, these are abominations. Flat 16:9 is perfect for me, though 21:9 flat would be good for multitasking.

Curved LG 34' 1400p IPS is fantastic. Glad I got the curve.

16:9 27" is already too wide. I'm afraid of how ridiculous using mine as portrait would be.

I prefer a curved screen, I get the same resolution and DPI as two 1440p screens next to each other, there's no loss except the bonus of better viewing and no border.

A curve on a ultra wide monitors is a must, imo. Anything smaller is just a gimmick.

I love my monitor

Real men like monitors with curves, shitlord.

I have a curved 32" monitor, honestly it makes sense if you were to draw a top-down view of yourself vs the screen. You're eyes are a point, not a plane so a curved large screen on your desk makes sense. If it doesn't OP is retarded.

Curve is only useful if it's an ultrawide.

This will go down with LCD displays, and matte coatings, as one of the biggest blunders in monitor design.

Unfortunately you just can't buy glossy screens anymore if you want other gaming oriented features.

screens are meant to present visual data to you on a 2 dimensional plane curving it is fucking stupid and just distorts it

>67139309
kek. I never thought of that. Good argument!

I want a big curved monitor but my Dell U2515H is still a perfectly good monitor

fucking christ I'm so glad I stopped myself from buying one of these a few years ago

People bought into it because it was advertised to normies. And person with a brain can tell you what the curved screen is supposed to specialise in, being watching movies and playing high graphics vidya, but when you pitch it to the normies you just get a crowd that uses the shit like it’s an ordinary monitor because it’s an expensive status symbol.

I've always bought monitors like an idiot. only matte tn panels with 60hz refresh rates. i've got this monster 3 monitor setup with an ultrawide in the middle and they're all casual tier. i can't even justify getting a new good monitor because I already have shitty old tv's laying around the house.

I'm struggling because I want to buy the latest and greatest, but all my old shit still works. How am I supposed to just get rid of three computer monitors and two tv's that work like new just so I can replace it with something else that does the same thing just slightly better

tl;dr don't buy cheap shit if you like to have nice things.

Wondering this too, at this point I'm just waiting until I get a house before I upgrade any of my monitors, TVs or speaker systems and I'll spread them throughout it. But then comes the question again of what to do with them when I want something else new

Seriously. Every time I see a monitor I'm interested in, in terms of specs, it's always a bloody curved monitor.

I'm going have to settle with either the LG 27UK850 or the upcoming 32UK950. My HP 2311x badly needs replaced.

You should know better now. Sell the shit monitors/TVs locally and invest in one good 144 Hz monitor

>144Hz
Sorry I dont buy memes, eyes cant see over 24fps

Ok so invest in a good 24 Hz monitor

Go set a 60 hz beside a 120 hz and tell me there's no difference.

> Both the high refresh rate and the curve are gimmicks.
>curve, yes
>refresh rate, no
If you think the refresh rate is I never want you sniping on my team..... hand me the awp kid

the guy that that posted 144 is a gimmick uses only ump and has trash spray control

What the ruckus fuckus is this garbage? CSGO is a garbage game, please leave my board now.

>tfw your wife's son shows you his computer monitors again and asks which one i like

you can have the equivalent of a two dimensional plane on a curved surface, its called a manifold. Considering that the difference between the distance between the edges of your screen and your eyes and the distance between the center of your screen becomes smaller (and that mapping a literal (almost) sphere to a 2d plane is something we do often with maps) the distortion is actually minimal or not actually present. Your eyes are effectively a single point and light is reflected much more directly this way. You're a fucking idiot.

Look, guys. I can notice the difference between 60 and 144Hz when compared side-by-side. Do I notice an considerable improvement in any SP experience (as I don't play MP)? No. Would I buy a monitor just because its refresh rate is 144 instead of 60Hz? No.
Perhaps gimmick was the wrong word. What I wanted to say is, that those things are nothing more than extras. I don't need them and the decision to buy my current monitor wasn't influenced by it.

so you're saying you're just retarded then

If you only want to shitpost, is that way.

I have a giant curved monitor and i love it
px347c

wow really got me, shit-for-brains-kun

your board... kek
tell your game with an fps lock that you're still probably shit at

and uh before pubg.... my mom was top 3% in duos

and uh.... she was playing at 144hz

Curved is a fukin meme just like meme-wide
if you can't afford 32" 4k monitor or even new standard 27" 1440p, then there's no future

I just bought a 49" tv for second monitor. Did I fuck up?

at least its not curved meme-wide monitor
you could've done way worse

got a samsung 34'' cf791 and my first impression almost made me return the damn thing, but now i just cant look at an older monitor, they are all shit.

don't get me wrong i don't like it because its curved, i like it because of its 21:9 ratio.

and it is because of its 21:9 that being curved makes perfect sense.

1080p 16:9 screens that are curved? yeah all dogshit. but 30'' + screens 21:9 must be curved.

If 1080p yes

yes it's 1080p. Why is it bad?

if you enjoy staring at fuck huge pixels.... than its ok...

Attached: 1231244515.jpg (1440x793, 339K)

But everything looks so good. Probably even better than my 1080p monitor

at a very far distance it will, due to vantage point making the pixel density appear higher due to the monitor being within a smaller portion of your field of vision, however up close... nah broskaloski

I'm literally 2 feet away from the TV and it looks good.

I love the curve in my ag272fcx. can't say the same about the resolution though.

youre gay epic style
