Like dailymotion

Use ad blocker and find out

Dailymotion has monetization though.

Cat videos and ukelele covers, the same shit that was popular before Let's Players and tech (((((((reviewers))))))).

Yet they are nigger tier because no one uses it and they can't bring in the money

This is not an opinion, this is a fact.

comfy lets plays
amateur made web animations
poop

it would still be huge and the owners and site maintainers would keep it running out of the goodness of their hearts because they love people and everything should be free amirite

impossible to sustain; every faggot would have to host their own videos and youtube would just be the search engine

This

He was probably talking about the monetization shit for (((content creators))), not about earning cash for the company using ads.

>monetization
selling

the same as it was before

>video monetization was never implemented

99% of youtubers are not monetized , it's the same names over and over that get all the traffic and money and promotion , youtube is actually a dead site outside of a handful of youtubers

Even with all of this YouTube still operates at a loss. Google is losing millions each year on YouTube. That's the whole reason they're trying to invent and adapt better video, audio and image formats which get compressed more efficiently.

> YouTube operates at a loss.
> believing this meme

See their financial report

That's the same shit tho. If people weren't on there to make content, promote it and grow, people would only use it as their personal blogs. Content/costs per view would go up as hell and youtube would lose even more money.

>dead site
>one of the worlds most visited traffic wise
uh

Youtube is not making direct money, true. But Google can use it to keep people in their ecosystem and to gain data. That's worth way more to them than advertisement money.
