Like what? I'd be curious and compare some. I get consistently better results with qwant than any other (privacy) engine. It's better on mobile than slow ass startpage and looks better than most others.

I personally only ever use startpage / ixquick. It's nothing really more than a google proxy, but let's be honest, google is the only working search engine. I have no clue why they are so much better than everybody else, even after so many years. And startpage proofs that they don't even need your personal data, to "improve" your results. Bing and Duck are a complete joke let be honest here. They feel even worse than yahoo back in the day.

I thought about making a search engine that exposes a api thats something like regex and basically be the grep of the web. Anyways, I was scared to go through with it because they will probably dont allow any competition and would stop me somehow like maybe slap me with so many lawsuits for stepping on their "patents" or come up with some bullshit like that.

Not completely terrible. Although I'm pretty specific when I search. I wouldn't say WinRe I'd say Windows Recovery maybe Windows Re.

For me it works, guess not for everyone.

searx is not the same as findx, user. findx is a fork of gigablast and is not very good just yet, searx is a metasearch engine.

Of course, if you compare a search engine that advertises no-tracking to one that tracks even your dreams, you're going to think it's shit.
