Not anyone's fault you are a brainlet when it comes to buying a decent monitor. Should have either researched your ass off for something with good colors or bought an IPS, as a good TN panel comes at a similar price range ( in fact it might be more expensive depending on the features of said TN panel).

No one mentions VA because "HUrr IPS is superior its what apple uses" but there is a reason nearly all TV manufacturers use VA if its not an OLED model. LG seems to be the only holdout on IPS

Better colors, triple the contrast, near tn speed.
The only problems they had was transition times but there are panels now that are fast enough.

If you're looking for a dirt cheap IPS give the Philips 243V7QDSB a try. Everything looks nicer than on my old Samsung TN panel, thin bezels, nice OSD menu and it's cheaper than pretty much all other decent brands.
