So what can you actually DO with it?

git.2f30.org/ports/
cool but outdated, probably dead

run a web/gopher/ftp/media server

when will this die?

Same things you do with your os of choice, but better

>but better
how?

> Every resources expose a filesystem like interface, like Unix but better (/net, /proc, IPC, ftp,...)
> Private namespaces (every process sees different resources)

You can find all the information you need in the links

who is actually using 9front or Harvey?

Attached: urielwasright.png (820x1172, 26K)

I used the 9front for 4/ 5 months few years ago on the bare metal t42. After switching back to Linux I really missed something and made me feel so clumsy in comparison

Things that never happened
Plan 9 even now lacks a functional web browser
A few years back lacked even HTTPS

No love for Inferno?

missed the lower bar

What software it can run?

Not everyone is a brainlet like you

I could browse Google and Wikipedia without problems with mothra few years ago

Not him, but are there any videos with examples of cool stuff plan 9 can do?

Does 9 have a decent tiling wm and vim port?

No timing wm, that is Haram. Rio is perfect the way it is.
No VM support

>you have to use a pointing device to use wm
>perfect

are you trolling?

Why is vim considered harmful?

It's a meme list, don't listen to it.

Reminder that all the browsers available for plan9, 9front and all variants are all garbage and completely unusable.

Because nvi exists, I guess.
Although nvi is a piece of shit, lacking the entire g and v sets of commands

You ricer faggots need to grow up. Your tiling shit belongs to desktop threads

Because using keyboard based editor is idiotic

>using a keyboard to edit text files is idiotic

Idiot.

Reminder.

Using keyboard to move the cursor or select modes is

Keep being delusional, keyboard driven editors are inefficient

You still can't argue this isn't autistic.

Whoever made that doesn't know shit about anything.

>gentoo is hard with genkernel

>genkernel is the correct way of using gentoo

>>you have to use a pointing device to use wm
what fucking year is it in riceland?
actually shit, even in the '80s tilers were autistic garbage nobody wanted

where does using a SysV with a broken toolchain fit me in this autism chart

What's the Plan9 equivalent of unix domain sockets?
I looked to see if I could find an equivalent, but didn't find one, and I find it odd that they'd have removed such a useful feature.
