I still use an i5 2500k and a 770 card... I guess it's still fine for decent HD quality. Not needing to go into 4k, though VR would be interesting but that shit's still developing and not cheap yet so not really in a rush to worry about that sort of thing.

So far at the match awaiting shit, steam is showing 105 fps on average. Will see what it says when actually in a game.

in game it's 85 fps on average fluctuating between 75 and 95 most the time.

I've tested both the differences are minimal. I'd recommend the msi if you case about cooling and the gigabyte if you want more ports available for multi monitor configurations.

This. I'm using a GeForce GT 720 for one box. Yes, yes, you can't game on a GT 720. Don't care. It's able to show the BIOS if I need to change some settings and it's also able to show a text console just in case something breaks on an update or configuration error and I have to actually connect a monitor and keyboard and fix that. And it's fanless and low power. If I were to buy a new GPU for such a purpose today I'd probably buy a fanless 1030. That, or GeForce GT 720 if they still sell them. Windows 10 pro. I only ran it (original part 1) for like 10 minutes after I bought it and then shut it off. Worked fine during that time though.

My G4560 + 1050 2GB runs everything launched to date in medium specs at 900p (the resolution of the monitor I have) at 60fps, so it works for me. No reason to pay double or triple the price for something that won't give me reasonable benefits

Played on windows 10, had the mouse issue, found some patch for it and after that it ran 60fps for the next 10 hours.

I use a GT1030 (GDDR5 ofc) because it's the best card I can put in here. And it runs stuff like Diablo 3 or CSGo very well. Currently playing Silent Hill 3 on it though.

Also it consumes very little energy, is very small, and is passively cooled, like my whole system.

Okay let me make this clear, the 1050Ti is NOT great for modern 1080p, I have an r9 390 and it's just about enough for 1080p above 60, and 1440p if you can stand 50fps. But games Like Watch Dogs 2, Battlefield 1 and most EA and Ubisoft titles, and also indie games like Soldier of the Universe (unpopular example but still an example) runs at 40 fps low on even my system, and it's a pretty good system. Basically unless you're fine with 40fps, medium-high 1080p gaming then that's cool, but you're depending on the optimization of the game at this point.

560 is on par with the 1050.

I bought a 1030. It is a good card. Low power, silent, and is better than my 9400 GT was. It can game but I don't play a lot of newer stuff so it doesn't matter.

If your mouse has 1000 Hz polling rate it happens. At least for the disc versions. The game starts to shutter after ~20 minutes and it turns worse the longer you wait, restart helps.

Not really. I had a 960 and it barely did Warframe in the lowest settings with drops in 4K.
Minimum requirement. 1050 can run PUBG on Low if you aim for 60 FPS. I had the 960 and it often dripped under 60, even on Low with a Ryzen 1700.

I have a 480 now, I can recommend it to anyone seeking a viable budget card. You get these for around 200 €, 8 GB VRAM, almost twice the performance of a 1050 Ti. Those are overpriced.

Also, they don't consume much, if you aren't dumb and can use sliders to undervolt, mine runs at 1V and consumes 100 W or less on full load. Its performance is the same because it won'
t throttle to 1 GHz due to overheating anymore. Good hardware, bad software.
