>try to talk to coworkers at work >most of them seem to flip between boomer talk and "look at me I'm a Chad" style of conversations >it's either about their children or how drunk they got last weekend >none of them seem to be interested in discussing technology or programming >the rare people who are genuinely interested in their field seem to be shunned in private >this was the norm in several different workplaces
Was this field always so infested with normalfags? I pretend to be interested in their small talk so I won't be viewed as a sperg, but at the very core I don't really understand why a 2 year old boy shitting its' pants is a better conversation topic than anything programming related. Hell, I've heard people calling other people "too silent" because they were actually working instead of discussing home renovations or kindergarten admissions.
that's cause other people have life, and you are just arrogant faggot.

People don't want to talk about technology all of the time, even the enthusiastic ones won't be autistically enthusiastic like you.
Christian Hernandez
At least there's some diversity of topics at your place m8. At my place it's exclusively sports talk.

because the workplace is a coffin, people get a job so they can live and die. it's all they have
Angel Ramirez
Office culture is generally shitty, it's the same everywhere. Part of the issue IMO is needing to deal with many different ages of people, who often can't relate over much.
Landon Green
I do get that and I wouldn't even mind but the ratio seems to be like 9:1 and people seem to raise their eyebrows if you talk a little bit too much over that. Bizarre as hell.

>just want to be left alone and browse Jow Forums during lunch and breaks >get harassed into talking about normie stuff with coworkers
