IBM Model M (current), various rubber dome mush boards, various laptop keyboards, Lenovo Bluetooth keyboard

I really need a mature keyboard with a windows key. Is there any alternative to buying a Unicomp Ultra Classic if I want key switches similar to buckling spring? I don't mind trying out a different key switch style.

are 99key kbds a thing?

Find an old 107 key IBM 4704.

How accurate is this?

Not very, also very outdated.

>buy blank pbt keycaps from aliexpress
>as requested, they add the 4 ISO keys to the box
>one of them has the wrong row profile
>annoys me to no end

What are the chances they will send me another package with the single correct keycap?

They will

Guys, I forewarn you, do not buy kailshit box royal, they suck in comparison to cherry clear.

What's the best mechanical keyboard made by Logitech?

Attached: colorful_vibrator_keyboard_2017-03-04_92839-s.jpg (1210x680, 139K)

they must be really bad then, because cherry clears are already one of the worst tactile switches ever made

they all have 30ms of lag so why even care about their differences I have a 30$ keyboard that has 0.2ms controller chip lag and feels exactly like a cherry red.

Zowie new keyboard / WootingOne / Roamer G / Bloody LK are the only switches/keyboards worth using if you game or even type alot 30ms delay on keypresses being sent to PC will slow down how fast you can program/work etc you will waste 6days a year of work using a keyboard that's 30ms slower.

why do you keep posting this image

It's pretty

Are these any good?

I want something silent, I've been looking at browns for a long time but I feel like they are loud still, maybe reds? with o rings? I feel like linear may be better for me, a red silent or something similar.

TKL or a combination of the numpad and arrows would be way better.

I have an AULA TKL with kaihl blue switches and it started malfunctioning around a year after I got it, the switches are extremely annoying but I just got it to try mechanical keyboards for the first time.

I like the keyboard to have that floating look, easier to clean and it just looks better for me.

I'm thinking of buying the Glorious PC TKL with Gateron reds, but if there is another keyboard with the same floating style, rgb and a mix of the arrows and numpad I'd probably prefer it.

Anyone try the logitech linears yet? I know the tactile are terrible but maybe they got it right with a linear switch

Looks like Varmilo VA68M. Pretty good.
Not sure where to find this exact board though.

It is a Varmilo. You can get them at Varmilos website. They even sell a PUBG version for professional gaymers

Bought a similar model by the same brand a few days ago, will post about it when it arrives

Uh nice

are you really this dumb?

Will I notice the input delay on wireless keyboards?

all those keyboards feel like shit tho

i am used to typing on my mac which has those butterfly keys that require literally no pressure when typing - its literally just one step up from a touchscreen. i need a mechanical keyboard for my desktop. What kind of weight should i go for? or what keyboard? i want it to be just as light as my mac keyboard

How do people get these group buy cases made? I want to make a m65-a style case but low profile

it's a good thing the Thermaltake Neptune Pro pretty much installs itself, because the fucking manual is red text on black.

Tada68 Snow White Edition with Gateron Clears

Design a case, contact manufacturer, get a quote, make an interest check, if enough people like it to meet the minimum quote requirements start a group buy, fulfill orders, profit?

What keyboard is this?

Jailhouse Blues (jspacer method)? How are they? Anyone tried them?

I want something tactile and quiet but a little bit 'sharper' than mx clears. Was looking at quiet clicks but the actuation force is a tad low for me

If you want sharper tactility than mx clears you'd either have to go for box royals or some form of alps.

it's called "Trash" by the company "Garbage"

looks like a dz60 pcb in a kbdfans acrylic case

I don't see any gaps next to the arrows

it doesn't have any

Attached: 5_06.png?v=1506138258.png (1920x417, 91K)

I want sharper, IE more "sudden" force delta, but not necessarily stronger peak force. Box royals are retarded because of the almost negative reset force, horrible for rapid actuation.

Burnt orange then?

I have some burnt oranges and for whatever reason they feel barely tactile at all to me, almost linear. I guess because the 'duration' (distance) of the tactile bump is so brief. Thought they'd be good based on the curve but they're horrible

oh, ok, thanks dude

Dunno what to tell you then m8. Get a switch tester with a shitload of switches and find the goldilocks switch for you. Maybe outemu sky (since the contact leaf is thicker iirc).

I have a tester and have felt many switches. So far nothing feels as good and balanced as MX clears, but Jailhoused Blues seem to have a somewhat similar profile so i want to know what they feel like before i make an entire board with them

my friend just anwsered me, yeah, it's a dz60 with custom keycaps and such, he also put mx blacks

mx speed silver

But aren't you being bottlenecked by the transfer speed of the cable? If your keyboard doesn't have a direct fiber optic connection to the motherboard you're lagging at least 0.7655ms more than you are reporting.

Need help with choosing between keyboards.

Opinion on pic related?

I'm not a gaymurr but I like silent keyboards with low key press force (like the membrane ones I'm used to). I need a backlight because I like to be able to see what I'm typing in the dark.

I saw an old friend with a backlight keyboard that he programmed to dispurse color on the keyboard whenever he would type.

Is there anywhere to get universal replacement legs/feet for your keyboard? The two on my GMMK are cracked to hell.

Surely there are some files you can use off thingiverse to 3D print them.

There are, though I was curious if there was a higher quality option.

Try just sending the makers of the GMMK an email. They should be able to send you replacement feet.

lmao you absolute madman.
i bought one of those on amazon a bit ago and came to ask what i should try next. got it with mx clears.
holy shit this is an amazing keyboard. you are going to fucking love it. the keycaps just feel amazing and the keyfeel is so fucking smooth.
the only issue i have is the legends can be hard to see, but i touch type so it's a non-issue.
numpads are for queers desu. i'd go 60% but i can't handle the function layer to do basic shit.

Attached: dh21.jpg (1920x1440, 882K)

>Needing a numpad
I don't think I'm the real faggot here, user.
That's about as fast as I type too.

Good taste, clears are pretty great! I sold my pok3r with them a while back though, went with greens this time around since I like blues alright, they're just too soft in my opinion.

Are mx clears not as scratchy as they used to be? I heard how cherry retooled their switches to make them smoother, but I don't know if that extended to clears.

oh one issue too with it, i think it's a problem with my pc because windows update seems to have fixed it. when coming from sleep mode the keyboard sometimes wouldn't recognize with windows. i think it's just an issue with keyboards in general, but a simple unplug and plug back in did it just fine. has a nice cable canal, too. i bought some belkin microusb cables anyways for my dac, and it fits right in with the keyboard.
seriously though, you are going to love that. rainbow fagcaps aside, i kinda like the rainbow style because it's a super creative legends thing. it'll come with some extra blue caps and a cap with leaves that have all the colors on it as like a demo, which is super cool. oh and a super nice keycap puller.
the chassis gets a bit grimy, along with the caps, but it's easy to just rub it off with your finger. other than that it has a really good anchor, i don't feel it sliding around on my desk. the switches have been rock solid, no real problems other than i occasionally double tap space and the spacebar is slightly bent, but i managed to bend every spacebar i've ever owned, even on my model m.
yeah i went with clears because i wanted something super tactile but without the gay fucking click. mx blues and outemu blues hurt my ears and the model m just raped me so i had to flossmod it.
i owned an nmb rt101+ and that sounded blissful, but i decided fuck clicky, it doesn't add anything to my experience.
clears are a bit weird to get into. they don't feel great at first but after about a week it's just amazing. especially with pbt. i was at a fry's just window shopping and saw a msi keyboard with clears with some of the shittiest abs caps and mounting i've ever seen on a keyboard. it was obviously clears but the caps just shook all over the place. rattling like bones.
the ducky doesn't have bad rattling. it's there, but i mean you're not buying a model m or an nmb so rattling just kind of comes with keyboards.

i got clears specifically for their non-scratchy feel compared to browns. browns felt super scratchy, like typing on a file. mx clears i jokingly refer to as "cum switches" and not because of the translucent snot-colored switches, but rather that the keyfeel going down kind of feels like you're bursting through a layer of mucus. like it feels great after a week of getting used to it, but before that it'll feel like you bought a rubber dome board.

The thing is that because of the larger bump, a rough surface on the stem of the switch would be more prominent in feel. I guess newer MX clears have retooled stems then.

imagine the tactile bump of blues without the click. that's basically what i'd say it is.

I have clears myself, but they're old ones. I just can't be bothered to buy new clears to compare them when I'm not really interested in building a board with clears in it. I'm waiting for the fixed box switches to go up on novelkeys.

A Matias Tactile Pro (they sell a PC version) is probably your best bet. If you're used to buckling springs you'll find cherries disappointing, even the clicky ones, as the "click" is quite hollow and plasticky. Matias-produced Alps clones, on the other hand, are really quite satisfying. The Mac version is my daily driver.

On a tangent, fun fact: the clicker mechanism in blues wasn't originally meant to be a clicker at all, and was introduced in an older switch as a means of providing hysteresis, and the first switch to use it actually damped out the sound of that descending "jacket". Only later did they decide to repurpose it as a rather mediocre clicker.

Unicomp are still using the tooling from the final generation of IBM/Lexmark Model M, which was a product of many cost-saving iterations that compromised build quality and durability. Bless them, they're trying, but it's really just as disappointing as looking at a later Model M next to a 1st- or 2nd-gen.

i used to have a mqc board. the switches are really cheap feeling. wouldn't recommend them.
i'd get a rt101+ if you can. that's my close second to buckling spring, but the switches occasionally catch. they're a bit hard to find on ebay, but if you can get one it won't cost you an arm and a leg.

Thanks for the extra info on the ducky, looking forward to having it show up.

yeah lol the ventrillo caps are a bit faggy but they'll serve you well. ended up going with the rainbow one for its cheaper price and high quality caps. tkl was 5 dollars off and i didn't need a numpad. the mx gold and silvers looked really cool. can't find reviews on those anywhere.

Azio MGK1 with kailh browns and some random dell keyboard

The QC switches are shit because:
a) tactile leaf instead of a clicky leaf opposite the contacts, which doesn't impart as much tactility because it's stuck in place, compare white alps to black alps
b) rubber dampers for additional quietness
They feel like slightly more refined rubber domes. It's for a very specific taste. The bona fide clicky switches are in a league of their own in comparison.
He specifically asked for Windows keys; An RT-101+ won't deliver on that. Although, speaking of real Alps, a nice clean AT101W would certainly do the trick.

rebind your right alt to right win. not that hard.

Then he could just stick with his Model M.

is he seriously replacing a model m for windows keys?
that's just a special kind of stupid, ngl.

What are your guys' thoughts on the Ducky Shine 6? I've been considering one for my first mkb. Ducky Shine 7 is supposed to have Razer switches from what I've heard, so I'm thinking 6 might be my best option

Attached: DS6.jpg (1200x774, 408K)

Are Razer switches really going to be the only option? I was given to understand that they were simply going to be on offer, with Cherry switches still available as well.
Told it's going to be using the Razer software to configure backlighting though so that's still enough reason to avoid from what I'm given to understand.

Why is Cooler Master so based?

I want a good keyboard that I can use for both typing (programming and writting), and light gaming. The main problem is that I live in Finland and it is super expensive to ship stuff here (WASD charges $60 for shipping).

If I'm paying +100 euros I really want to get my prerefed layout, latin american spanish. Mostly because I really like how the [ ] { } ' keys are placed, with makes programming more enjoyable.

I might be travelling to the USA for 1 or 2 days later this day, so I could grab something there.

What

Finally I have finished my endgame build.
