You won't laugh when Intel starts sabotaging compilers and intimidating OEMs.

fucking intel. well chuffed with my 2700x.

B-but muh gayms!

>twice the amount of cores
>same performance

Wow intel truly is btfo

ok now post gaming benchmarks

lul

>more cores
>less price

Yeah, I'm thinking Intel is btfo.

>Gen 2 Threadripper with more cores faster than the old Skylake-X chip
(lol AMD shills

COPE

Come on, post another one.

umad brah?

But 2950X is a 16 core. It has 2 cores less than 7980XE, yet it's faster.

Come on, post another one mate, we're waiting.

come on, cope some more, mate

>heavy multitasking
2950x faster than 2990wx with half the cores.
It's "heavy multitasking" benchmark brought to you by the usual tech idiots.

Post some gaming benchmarks.

Delicious tears

>Post some single core game engine results
here, ftfy

Intlel's 16 cores are also beating the 18 core shit kek

m-multicore doesn't matter

is this with the novidia driver from early 2017 that couldn't run on the ryzen at all because it was hardcoded for 4cores?

AMD shills getting rekt by Nvidia and they can't fire back so they double down on trying to shit on Intel and its still a swing and a miss.

Post some gaming benchmarks.

don't you have any dignity?
that benchmark is fucking flawed.
How can you take the exact same architecture and CPU for that matter, unlock the extra cores and end up getting 3 fps min.

is this from those idiots who use the same instance of windows to bench intel/amd/nvidia?

INCLUDE STARCRAFT 2 AND SKYRIM BENCHMARKS YOU BIASED POS

Attached: ugly.png (480x586, 134K)

another great example, unlock cores, lose performance.

Things not what they used to be

Missing one inside of me

Attached: 100484.png (650x250, 28K)

more cores lead to more performance.
that can't be happening.
the faggot above proved with his benchmarks that doubling the cores get you from 50 fps to 3 fps.

Deathly loss this can't be real

Attached: 100485.png (650x250, 31K)

It's almost as if adding shitloads of cores doesn't magically give you more power.

>tfw my very cute little 1600 beats fuck all expensive i5's and almost all i7's

Interesting that 2950X is beating 2990WX on several multithreading benchmarks.

Cannot stand this hell I feel

Attached: 100486.png (650x250, 28K)

I am not sure you will understand it.
here's a more visual version.
it still requires >80 IQ though.

>poorly multithreaded program doesn't scale correctly with more cores
NUOH MY GOD!?

>It's almost as if adding shitloads of cores doesn't magically give you more power.
not only that, but the program knows about it and refuses to run.
benchmarking done right.

Yes, as we can see from your graph, intel not only rapes AMD but is also less expensive because they don't sell you cores that you don't need.

Emptiness is filling me

Attached: 100497.png (650x250, 21K)

Can someone just post all the Phoronix benchmarks done using Linux, which is actually NUMA aware unlike that trash heap Windows?

>NUOH MY GOD!?
the problem here is not the multithread implementation.
as you can see here
the game is on borderline crash... yet those are posted as "benchmarking results"

To the point of agony

Attached: 100490.png (650x250, 28K)

I did say >80 IQ and I was fucking spot on.

Growing darkness taking dawn

I was me but now, he's gone

Attached: 100512.png (650x250, 30K)

1600.. ahh now THAT was a cute chip

It was released last year, stop using memes you don't understand and gb2reddit fucking dyke

Guys come on, this has to stop. I know people are all saying "hurr muh competition" but this isn't competition. This is one company releasing ultra high quality products (intel) and another releasing trash and using dirty marketing tactics to sell their products to brainlets who don't know any better (AMD).

If that's what competition looks like, then fuck that shit. Just let it die. There has to be more to life than this.

Just wait till devs fix it like with Ryzen, naive AMDrone. Hahaha.

No one but me can save myself, but it's too late

Why is Threadripper compared to i7s and i9s? Where are the Xeons?

Now I can't think, think why I should even try

Attached: 3dsmax.jpg (531x773, 69K)

Jow Forums informs me that diversity hires are the reason for this problem at Intel.

Yesterday seems as though it never existed

>Intel
literally who?

i9 = xepoo

>intel will go under in less than 10 years
Kind of scary thought

If their big clients decide to hold on and wait out the process change from 14 nm, then it won't matter. Most consumers will continue to buy POS Intel gear simply because that's what the big manufacturers are selling. Only if someone is daring enough to make a mass market AMD machine will AMD gain traction.

SHUT IT DOWN

Why would anyone buy a 2950x over 1950x when 1950x is much cheaper and has basically the same performance?

Attached: 1528926250098.jpg (600x600, 24K)

Intel has a rich and long history spanning decades doing exactly this.

Different use cases.

these threads always make me become more firm in my decision to buy intel/nvidia shit because one of these threads long ago convinced me to get an amd 6100.
It was just a huge piece of shit for games and it only shined during rendering, and the benefit was negligible compared to its intel counterpart.
I switched to an i5 3570k a few years later and was blown away at how night and day the performance increase was, benchmark comparisons said it was something like a %104 increase in performance, when some Jow Forumsremlins and /v/irgins were telling me the 6100 was comparable to the 3570k.

Eat shit AMD

Except this time Intel and AMD are within 5% difference.

Absolutely wrong as fuck

There have been legitimate times when AMD was clearly ahead of Intel. The last time that I can think of was in the 1990s, when they came out with those Athlon CPUs.

Wtf are you on about? Both are 16core zen cpus on the same socket

That's the weirdest one of them all, though. Whyever would the 2990WX do compiles slower than the 2950X? That doesn't make a sense to me.

I know this is a shitpost thread but is it worth upgrading from the r5 1600 to something else released currently or wait for ryzen 2?

Windows is currently bugged. It's fine on Linux.
In a lot of MULTITHREADED applications in Windows, yeah performance is worse on the 2990WX than the 2950X.
It'll be fixed just like they fixed the 2700X and 1950X issues in Windows. MS would lose enterprise customers if they didn't fix this shit.

2950X does perform a bit more consistently and efficiently, better memory compatibility.
1950X sometimes performs better mainly because its XFR is extremely aggressive, but also peaky and less efficient as a result. This is why you see bad minimum FPS in some of the game tests with it.

Up until late 00s, AMD had a massive and clear advantage over Intel.
Phenom was a buggy disaster. Phenom II wasn't amazing. Bulldozer was even worse.
But up until Phenom, only retards didn't buy AMD.

As far as the 6100 and 8350 and shit, those were like.. $70 and $135 chips. They held their own a lot better than i3s and pentiums of the time that they competed again, they simply didn't compete with the i5s and i7s.

Worth is subjective. I'd say wait.

Because the current lower price of the 1950X is just retailers getting rid of their stock. The 2950X sells for a lower price than the 1950X did under normal circumstances, and will soon be the only one available.

It reminds me of the three stooges stripping over each other as they push and shove themselves simultaneously through a house's front door.

Only with a massively parallel number of stooges.

>wait for ryzen 2?
You mean either wait for Ryzen 3, or for Zen 2. Ryzen 2 is currently on the market. But yes, definitely wait.

Doesn't change the fact that 1950x can be bought for a way lower price new

Holy fuck. 2950x totally btfos the 7960X

Yes, I mean, of course it makes more economic sense to buy a product that is rebated because it's on its way out. How is this controversial?

>power consumption
Yeah. Intel still wins in that point.

7zip decompression is known to be an extremely favorable benchmark to Zen. I'm curious if anyone has found out exactly why.
