Nearly 10 year old machine still does everything I could ever want and more. Second processor has some heat issues, but unless I'm slamming the CPUs 100% it's fine.

found a new i7-7700k on sale that was pretty fuckin cheap so i thought "fuck it" and bought it, might arrive tomorrow. i'm probably going to bring the rest of the build up to date when i can, new motherboard for overclocking and an SSD. graphics card can wait though, i just use CPU/RAM intensive programs 95% of the time.

I would but my desk is cluttered with shit and I'm too lazy to clean it lol. Basically just a Dell Precision T7500 with a 980 Ti and some other upgrades. Dual monitors (just some cheap Dell U2412M monitors), Onkyo 7.2 surround sound (overkill I know) and all wireless Logitech peripherals (keyboard, mouse, trackpad, and keyboard + touchpad combo all through one usb slot). Not the best gaming experience you can get, but still vastly superior to even an XBox One X.

For a chip that I see praised all the fuckin time I don't see it posted that often here. Mine oc's to 4.8 ghz at reasonable voltages and I can do 5ghz with gross voltage for brief periods.

Yeah, it's nice little machine (it's the one that is not a Mini Tower nor Small Form Factor), at first I was unsure if it was going to overheat with that CPU, but it seems to handle everything fine so far.
I'm really surprised how well this thing runs.
