That they steal your shit and make shitty clones of it?

Shouldn't you cover those things with a tarp or something? They'll get wet and ruined if there's a rain.

this was my first computer model.. ah 1mb ram the madness

They're bloody trash TVs due to be scrapped!

If this is the MBASIC included with CP/M, he should be able to exit out of it by typing SYSTEM and not need to reboot.

I can't tell if those are plus signs or asterisks, they're too fuzzy.

Waiting on a CRT to arrive for my PII system, just finished repainting the spare room to dump more obsolete crap in.

You know what I miss, and it sounds like a strange thing to say I admit, from these days? The physical nature of computing. There were a lot of clunks, clicks, and other sounds of physical objects interacting with each other. These days all you really get is the monotonous drone of the fan, which just doesn't have the same aesthetics to it.

Not to mention that people weren't ashamed to admit that they were using a computer, so art created (whether written, drawn, or composed in the case of music) had a distinct "computer-y" theme to it.

Steve Jobs was ahead of his time in preferring computers that were as silent as possible. :^)

That Thexder title screen always weirded me out. Just what's going on there?

I think it's supposed to be pieces of a destroyed Thexder.

It was a real popular game at the time though, Sierra boasted that it was their biggest selling title. I'd probably still prefer the Famicom version which never got released in North America.

I think the Famicom version didn't do that well because it wasn't particularly unique or interesting and just felt like another run and gun.

Good ol' Mikro$haft. Writing the best and most efficient code since 1980.

And you can't even blame that on poo coders since they didn't really have those back then.

C64 owners would have killed for even a shitty, slow CIRCLE command in BASIC. Using POKEs really, really sucks.

Or you just use Simons' BASIC.

The code that he linked wouldn't be all that difficult to implement on the C64 if you make some adjustments for its herky-jerky bitmap screen layout.

SWTPC, another of the many companies killed by PC compatibles.

That's nothing. Check out Amiga BASIC. So awful that they dropped it when the A500 came out and only A1000s shipped with it.

I think you can probably use some of the example programs in the PRF.

what an absolute waste of time and resources, unless you're a fucking museum there's no point to that

>Heathkit
I hear tell on VCFED the damn things used hard sectored disks.

They did.

You can't use Goteks with a hard sectored controller; you would need to find a soft sector one.

natch

Uh, its for me to play with.

Interesting and I believe there was a disassembly of the BASIC ROM online.

Where can I get this?

Attached: ibm-5100-2.jpg (560x360, 103K)

If you're rich, maybe. And what would you do with it if you had it?

If you find one and it doesn't work, you're probably fucked because most of the components are proprietary IBM chips, this isn't an Apple II or a PC here.

who plays with 30 year old crap?

yeh who would use like an old violin or something, lol, retards

I like to actually use my old shit, not just put it on the shelf. I had my Amiga 500 online for a good deal of 2004-07.

Why does he need to have an external fan blowing into it? Does it get _that_ hot in there?

IDK maybe it does.

Isnt that Half life?
