zsh sucks at both interaction and scripting. Just use fish or bash for interactive use and scsh for scripting

I don't need a shell with a ton of features. I don't need advanced completion, colorful shite, or a crappy git prompt.

You can easily write a git prompt into a bash PS1 if you need it, anyways.

Why should I abandon bash for zsh?

like everyone on the thread is saying, it seems bloated and bash serves its purpose just fine.

the real reason for all of you is:

have you used zsh? it takes that slight delay while opening terminals. it takes that slight delay when i go into another folder.
if it's a git project then fuck me, it's considerable slower.
it's bloated as fuck and nothing you say can beat experience from people who used both.

zsh is very good, you all suck

not him, but maybe your config was just bloated. zsh was very slow for me too when I used oh-my-zsh.
When I installed it raw however and configured it myself, it was as fast as bash.
