Its a 4 year old i7 4770 system built from new, used and refurbed parts. Both of are essentially the same age with the one on the right being a 4670K. You can buy a MB, CPU and RAM used for under $300. The ultrawide monitor almost cost more than the system on the right including its 24" monitor and the speakers were purchased cheap on clearance and do a fine job for now.

You'd get a big benefit from moving those speakers a bit more away from the wall, and angle them more toward the listening position. Not sure exactly where the listening position is, but either way seems way too wide of a stereo image.
Nice, but stereo image seems a tad wide. Try to get an equal distance between the speakers (woofer to woofer) and your ears. Equal triangle. Would also suggest some sort of padding to decouple your speakers from the table, that would also maybe add just the inch or so for the speaker to clear your laptop
