I dont even like apple as a company, but this isn't really a problem with them specifically. Every single lithium ion battery on the planet in literally every single cell phone, tablet, laptop, etc has a very small chance of exploding. Tech companies have figured out that the settlement money paid after the 1/100000~ (or maybe even 1 in a million) chance of that happening happens is worth it in the long run. Same thing with automotive companies. Hell, everything that has a battery or engine has a chance of blowing up really
