Kind reminder NGG (which couldn't be enabled by drivers in Vega due to hardware bug) meant a real world 60-80% improvement. AMD has had over a year to fix this, and is releasing its first 7nm vega GPUs soon, which by process alone should mean further improvements.

games really dont have much to gain with rasterization, but ray tracing is a good 4 gens to eirly at least, voxel cone looks promising, but i need to see more demos of it.
honestly speaking, I don't believe there is going to be another massive game changer outside of ray traceing / ray assisted rendering, and all this shit is years to early...
the next few gpu generations look like they are just going to be being more and more 4k ready, more and more fps at the lower resolutions, along with gearing up either through dedicated hardware or through software for ray tracing to finally get there.
