installing a anti virus is just adding a security hole in your system, you should instead use an OS wich is secure by design like GNU, this way the only weakness will be between the chair and the screen

You do realize that the majority of malware don't actually require users to manually download something from a site. Threat actors don't just use social engineering in order to propagate a botnet.

Most of the times you get infected by downloading some shit tho
This isn't 2008. There are botnets out with more than 500,000+ nodes that propagate with only exploits.
keeping your shit up to date is part of Common Senseā¢
What are a 0-days?
and how are antiviruses supposed to save you from that? the 0day is just going to download a payload that's FUD (pretty easy with a $20 crypter). also,
>what are antivirus 0days
for real tho, windows defender + commonsense is all you ever need
>and how are antiviruses supposed to save you from that?
Withe heuristics and behavior shields, idiot.
noscript, adblock, knowing your processes, not downloading dodgy shit, not visiting dodgy sites
it isnt fucking difficult
>use windows defender
>use malwarebytes
Whoa
An antivirus can push an update to block and remove a malicious payload (binary md5) that the device manufacturer hasn't patched.
>>what are antivirus 0days
What are you getting at? Modern botnets are easy to fingerprint (tcp sequence numbers, payload strings). An antivirus can easily intercept the installation process.

again, this assumes the attackers are total dumbasses and don't obfuscate that shit
>implying an antivirus exists for OpenBSD
>again, this assumes the attackers are total dumbasses and don't obfuscate that shit
You do know that in order to communicate with the c2 server, a botnet must have a fingerprint or a heartbeat? Also if a botnet isn't propagated with manual installation, it most likely isn't noticed until you view suspicious packets or binary hashes.
That's my friend from high school.
Took as screenshot of his deskop with icons, set it up as wallpaper and the fucker almost goes crazy after 3 hours.
Ganoo SLASH Linux is my antivirus
*dibs bedora* :D
antivirus is fucking old shit, the term reeks of 2000s, we're about to enter 2020s ffs
no you don't need an antivirus, is spot on
