Admittedly I would like to see that in games eventually, especially the dynamic moving light source stuff. And it does make things easier for devs, so raytracing probably will become the standard eventually.
But it certainly isn't worth $1k right now, to get the first iteration of a technology that will almost certainly be refined later, and possibly abandoned in favor of a cross-manufacturer industry standard version built into DirectX and Vulkan.

Call me back when the lighting is ray tracing. The star wars demo is impressive. The demos with a few primitives with different materials all being physically rendered properly is impressive. Just allowing some soft shadows and being 99% the same is not impressive.
