Where were you when Xiaomi launched the Pocophone F1, the spiritual successor of Oneplus One? Finally there's a true "flagship killer" again.
>Snapdragon 845 with liquid cooling >6GB or 8GB RAM, up to 256GB storage >Flagship quality 12 MP + 5 MP rear camera >4,000mah battery with QC3.0 fast charging >USB-C, MicroSD slot, IR blaster, stereo speakers >A fricking headphone jack!! >Android 8.1 Oreo, with Pie coming before the end of the year >Durable polycarbonate body instead of weak glass
Its still there A notch just screams "in less than a year I won't exist, you just bought a widespread prototype"
Tyler Barnes
>touchjizz no thanks
Connor Ward
Vote with your wallet, if you give these retarded chinks your money you're telling them it's a good idea to copy whatever retarded shit the faggots over at Apple will come up next.
Sebastian Gonzalez
>Durable polycarbonate body instead of weak glass SOLD! Buying the shit out of this. I can't tolerate slippery aluminum or glass. This is what I've been waiting for three years.
I don't give a fuck about the notch. These specs at this price makes it an insta-buy for me.
Jonathan Baker
No nfc is a dealbreaker.
Sebastian White
>notch Dropped
Alexander Fisher
>proprietary Android fuck off Chinese NSA
Liam Green
Not even shilling, but touchjizz has come a long way. And even then, no one's forcing you to use it, just get a different launcher. Disable all the stock Samsung apps you want, but keep in mind that the gallery and email apps are still fucking amazing. >muh CyanogenMod muh ROMs CyanogenMod/Lineage isn't good. It just isn't. >basic as fuck dev support for carrier versions of the phone >almost no security updates after the first two weeks of release >tech support threads with pigeon pajeet English to guide you through the process of installation/removal >camera isn't as good as stock ROM >What doesn't work: Data and Cellular ;-)
Shouldn't take long to start getting LineageOS build, a week or two at most.
Christopher Foster
>touchjizz has come a long way my xz premium with a snapdragon 835 is faster than both s8 and s9, both on exynos. there's just something really fucking retarded about samsung's android that makes me and my friends stay the fuck away from it.
Cooper Scott
xda-developers.com/xiaomi-poco-f1-developer-community/ Literally every AOSP based ROM, which Poco will have supper for. Even Treble support if you want nothing but AOSP. It does. >how the fuck is a phone made in 2018 NOT waterproof? Because the majority of smartphones and specifically 300 dollar ones have IP ratings. >a notch
Jaxon Stewart
Support for*
Mason Miller
LCD is a deal breaker for me, after seeing for myself how much battery OLED saves I'm not going back. Sticking with my OP5 by now. The next pocophone, if they continue the way they are going now, might be my next purchase - custom ROM support will be the deciding factor. >And even then, no one's forcing you to use it, just get a different launcher. Kill yourself, retard.
Brody Thompson
no u
Xavier Gomez
Does it have a notification light?
Christopher Wright
yes
Caleb Lee
S9 is the fastest Android phone, though. You must be mistaken.
Owen Edwards
how do you use the nfc option?
Levi Campbell
Slower than most phones on the same SOC, both in benchmarks and in real life.
Liam Ross
scores high in benchmarks =/= smooth in real life
Julian Gonzalez
No replacible battery or MicroSD? Fuck off shill.
Robert Scott
It has microsd you blind fuck.
Liam Sanchez
>replacible What?
Juan Parker
>400$ outside of India I'm not a shitskin. >no AMOLED >no removable battery >no NFC >no IR Blaster It's not really worth it. I'd rather buy an LG G5 or Galaxy Note 4.
It has mSD
Jacob Cooper
>no IR blaster Another blind fuck
Jaxson Bailey
If it didn't had the stupid fucking notch I would buy it But I rather stay with shitter phones without a notch
Kayden Watson
These tests tell a different story. gsmarena.com/battery-test.php3 >custom ROM support will be the deciding factor xda-developers.com/xiaomi-poco-f1-developer-community >400$ outside of India Source? >no removable battery Not a thing past the V20 and similar LG devices with defects. >no NFC Not surprising, especially considering the phone doesn't aim for the US market. At this point I'm convinced it's only viable just in the US and a handful of European countries. >no IR Blaster >I'd rather buy an LG G5 Good luck when it inevitably bootloops and takes all your data with it. >Galaxy Note 4 Hardware from 2014. which is destined to lag either way and especially thanks to low quality EMMCs Samsung used in it and the original Note, Note 2.
Asher Carter
disregarding the notch, we have SD 845, headphone jack and rubberlike body for this price point... holy shit
Aaron Hill
At this point, Redmi Note 5 becomes less and less worth it. And as you can see, it can be disabled.
Anthony Perry
>disregarding the notch Don't forget .
Gavin Flores
Redmi Note is still a decent price lower, so for someone on a tight budget it's a no brainer. Poco is making Mi8 and especially Mi8 SE questionable, that's I think one of the reasons they went with an entirely new name.
Carter Hughes
got a pic of that mode with notification bar visible?
Owen Young
When can I expect this phone on chinese websites like Aliexpress, Gearbest and Banggood?
Luke Ramirez
fucking look for videos on youtube, it's slow next to cleaner rom phones even from last year. fuck samsung and their stupid shit
>These tests tell a different story Solely due to a larger battery, it'd easily get 1.5x SOT if it used OLED instead. >xda-developers.com/xiaomi-poco-f1-developer-community Plenty of phones with open bootloaders but no custom ROMs. So far I see nothing in the phone's development section, but that's to be expected at this stage - only time will tell.
>check Youtube videos for it >literally every one I open is a pajeet
Fucking hell... why do they even try to speak English, can barely understand it
Robert Cooper
That's gonna change soon. This is one of those phones devs like to buy to tinker with, like the Huawei Y series used to be back in the day. If you break something it's cheap enough to replace and this one is particularly interesting to them because it has the latest snapdragon. There will be a great custom ROM support no doubt, the only issue will be to filter out the flood of Pajeet crap that come with this as well.
wtf are you talking about? It's 300 USD which is 257 EURO which is 21000 INR
Christian Bennett
back to pol edgelord
Jordan Fisher
So you're paying 72€ in refugee tax. I'll keep importing my phones then, fuck EU.
Nice reading comprehension
Gavin Brooks
>8 million cores with liquid cooling >50 GB of RAM >500" screen
>use it for whatsapp, clover and instagram fuckING EPIC AS FUCK
Aaron Watson
>Source? gearbest.com/cell-phones/pp_009171054898.html?wid=1349303 >Hardware from 2014 Still more useful than this shit. Smartphones are supposed to have a ton of features. It's only been a recent trend to remove features and sell devices at higher prices. I won't buy trash.
Logan Carter
>A notch AND bezel why?
Aiden Hughes
so retards buy an iphone look-alike, that's why it's literally a phone made specifically for retards, like many other notch phones.
And official price in Europe is 329€, like it says in the OP.
Nathan Sanchez
they're made in india, chinese-made phones are cheaper in china too, duh
Brody Powell
Normie apps are usually horribly optimized. I bet Snapchat can still find a way to lag on those specs.
Carson Phillips
Perfect for Fortnite
Aiden Morales
>liquid cooling not in that size you wont!
>8GB RAM not in that size you wont!
>256GB mem not in that size you wont!
>durable body SOLD!
Noah Perry
>what are custom ROMs
Pajeet piece of trash?
William Morgan
Thanks to Treble you can run a pure AOSP ROM on it, completely unmolested by pajeets.
Thomas Gutierrez
You forgot the best feature, with Xiaomi phones unlocking the bootloader won't void your warranty
Noah Richardson
Is the notch really hidden well with a LCD panel?
Chase Thompson
Looks fine enough Can't really tell from a photo though, you'd have to see it in real life.
Angel Jenkins
...
Michael Hill
Neither will rooting.
Asher Young
From that picture it still sticks out, you can easily spot the difference between the black notch and the LCDs washed out black.
Jackson Robinson
when do you ever use nfc? must be a regional thing
Christian Stewart
the notch is maybe because the screen is an off the shelf part? otherwise there's more they could do with it, round those inner corners where it juts out, make the top bezel a bit thicker and the notch less protruding for symmetry with the bottom bezel
Aaron Reed
Yeah, I'm in northern Europe and I've never seen anyone use NFC for anything.
David Smith
Where exactly? No one else has noticed it in this thread.
Blake Lee
I don't use a compass yet I'd like it to be there just in case I need it. Removing features and saying "eh, who used this anyway" is the most retarded thing anyone can do. Don't be Apple.
Nathaniel Butler
I've got my screen on full brightness and face against the screen and I can't still see where the display ends and notch starts in that picture.
Luis Jenkins
i have a pretty accurate monitor and imo it looks good in the pic, not sure what it's like irl tho, but when viewing bright content it will probably be hidden well
Dylan Diaz
since when can they cut lcd screens? I thought they were all (am)oled, this makes the notch an even bigger cancer
>the Snapdragon 845 requires liquid cooling >notch WITH huge bezel anyway >fuckhuge chin thats a no thanks for me
Ian Nelson
...
Brody Cruz
thats great user, but that still doesn't make up for the huge bezels
Eli Gonzalez
No one could've guessed the notch is even there with that screenshot.
Levi Bell
>thats great user, but that still doesn't make up for the huge bezels Why do you care? What disadvantage does it introduce? Are you one of those reviewers with tools calibrated to millimeters for measuring phone thickness?
Parker Ross
because it completely removes the (((advantage))) the jews try to trick you into believing the notch has, small bezels. implement it properly or don't at all, so far I unironically find the Galaxy S9 and iPhone X the least ugly of this modern 'all screen' smartphone trend.
Jaxon Russell
I bought a Redmi Note 2 when it first launched and if any company could deliver a phone to outstrip just about every competitor at this pricepoint and above, it's Xiaomi. Still I wish we could get companies to follow the yotaphone's dual display design. I also wish phones would be made lighter weight, with the same battery capacity. I don't care if it's thicker. I also care about thermals. Thermals are very important.
Things that are really thin but also heavy are meh.
Daniel Carter
I was in the middle of a 10 mile run btw.
Cooper Lopez
It has an IR blaster but not NFC? Why? Why don't they make another global version with NFC?
Carter Miller
Just what I need, another item of chinkshit that shows I can’t afford an iPhone
